The remote display and iFlex are the cats meow and they take standard batteries. I am able to install both in the MCC close the door and read the data with the gear buttoned up.

Bulky, but worth it
5.0
Needed a new TRMS clamp meter for work - asked for a 325 but my boss sprung for this; glad he did.
I have to say, the meter is downright huge, but the wireless display is indispensable. Battery lasts plenty long enough to allow me to keep the display outside a panel looking for min/max spikes overnight into the next shift. The ability to monitor the current while observing a motor or powertrain has been game changing for me.

Not Typical Fluke Quality
2.0
We have owned many Fluke meters and power quality instruments. My recommendation is to AVOID the Fluke 381 clamp meter.
Our Fluke 381 clamp meter is no longer operable. The "Hazardous Voltage Indicator" now turns on with meter. No voltage probes are attached.
This Fluke 381 meter has been used very little during the 5 years we have owned it. This is partly due to the fact that batteries had to be removed between times of use because Fluke 381 battery life is abysmal when the instrument is used intermittently.
The only other Fluke battery issues we've experienced have been with a Fluke 43B Power Quality Analyzer. The Fluke 43B "battery refresh" stopped working after a couple of years; however, the Fluke 43B has worked for 15 years since that repair. The 43B will discharge quickly while being used, but the rechargeable battery will last 7-8 years.
We are faced with 3 options for this instrument: (1) have Fluke repair it for $214, (2) purchase a replacement Fluke 381, or (3) trash the Fluke 381 and chalk it up to having made a bad purchase decision.

This best clamp meter I ever bought and currently use. What a pleasure to use! The Fluke 337 was also a great meter.

Bought this meter because it had the iflex functionality and the removable head to reduce exposure to Arc Flash risk. In the Industrial world, the remote face is almost as good as a good apprentice. You can adjust variable frequency drives, view fluctuations in voltage and current, record min/max, with the meter at the equipment, and the display with you at the control panel.
The jaws on this meter are slightly larger than the earlier fluke meters, but not by any huge margin. The white backlight makes the meter extremely easy to read.
This is a GREAT buy!!!
