FLIR T440 Industrial Infrared Camera
Predictive Maintenance Power
The FLIR T440 is designed for professionals who follow intensive inspection schedules where fast, frequent reports are required. The T440 features a large standard temperature range of -20°C to 1,200°C (-4°F to 2,192°F). The camera's ergonomic, articulating optical block combined with powerful 8x continuous digital zoom gives you the ability to capture thermal images in almost any environment. Multiple lens options are available for the T440 as well, allowing you to optimize this versatile camera for close-up, long distance, and everything in between. The included FLIR Tools software, along with the FLIR Tools Mobile app, make reporting fast, easy and smooth. With the FLIR Tools Mobile app you can import images, make adjustments, then send reports all via Wi-Fi right from your smartphone.

FLIR UltraMax
UltraMax is a proprietary image processing technology from FLIR available only on T-Series thermal cameras. UltraMax allows you to create thermal images that have four times as many pixels and 50% less noise. This effectively decreases measurement spot size while retaining all radiometric data. This means that with UltraMax you are able to zoom in on smaller targets and measure them more accurately than ever. This technology works by using natural human movement to capture an image set in which each image is slightly offset from the others. By capturing 16 of these images per second and combining them, UltraMax creates images with roughly four times the resolution of the thermal camera's detector. This means thermal images from the T440 can have up to 640 x 480 pixel resolution. However, keep in mind that with too much or not enough movement of the camera, UltraMax will not work. The images below illustrate how UltraMax works.
FLIR MSX Image Blending
Many thermal camera manufacturers offer some sort of image blending or thermal fusion technology as part of their cameras. These technologies attempt to add additional detail to thermal images in order to eliminate the need for visible light reference images. FLIR however, has invented a thermal fusion technology called MSX (Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging) which is unlike any other. With MSX active, FLIR cameras automatically extract highlights and sharp details from images taken with the built-in visible camera. These details are then imprinted on their corresponding, identical thermal images while all thermal data is preserved. This is possible with both thermal images and thermal video, and it's only available from FLIR.
FLIR Tools Mobile Wi-Fi App
The FLIR Tools Mobile Wi-Fi App is a time-saving technology breakthrough which allows you to send thermal images and stream thermal video directly from the T440 to an Apple or Android device via a Wi-Fi connection. Use FLIR Tools Mobile to wirelessly import images from the T440 then analyze and make adjustments to span and level, add more measurement spots, change palettes, and add notes. With the T440, FLIR Tools Mobile also gives you the power to remotely control focus, level, span and more while recording images and MPEG movies. When capturing images is completed, FLIR Tools Mobile makes it incredibly easy to create professional reports. Reports can then be shared via email, Box, and Dropbox directly from the app.
Image Annotation – The FLIR T440 gives you the power to make notes on your thermal images in several ways. You can use the included Bluetooth headset to make voice comments and the touchscreen keyboard to make text comments. The T440 also gives you the ability to sketch on images directly from the touch screen.
High Accuracy & Sensitivity – The FLIR T440 thermal imager features thermal accuracy of ±2% of reading or 2°C. Thermal sensitivity is 0.045°C or 45mK.
Multiple Measuring Modes – The FLIR T440 features multiple measuring modes including 5 Spotmeters, 5 Area Boxes, Isotherm, Auto hot/cold spot, Delta T, and one live line profile.
Lens Options – There a multiple additional lenses available for the T440 thermal camera including 7° and 15° telephoto, 45° wide angle, 90°, and 100 and 50µm close up. The stock lens included with the T440 is 25°.
GPS Location & Compass – The T440 adds camera pointing direction to every image via the built-in compass if this feature is active. With the T440's built-in GPS, you can also add exact location data to thermal images.
Laser Pointer & LED Flashlight – The integrated laser pointer on the T440 helps pinpoint a reference spot in thermal images. You can then align a marker to it in images for precise detection. The built-in LED flashlight helps further improve precision in dark areas.
