Luxo System 273
The Luxo System 273 is a binocular stereo microscope, and Luxo’s most popular model. Designed for use in electronics manufacturing, the System 273 features ergonomic controls, as well as long working distances, specifically designed for inspectors, and assembly/rework technicians.
The System 273 contains a zoom magnification of 0.7x to 4.5x, with a 1x objective, and 10x eyepieces, standard for all models. This provides a magnification of 7x to 45x, with a working distance of 118mm. Working distance refers to the amount of space between the item being viewed and the microscope’s objective - the larger this number, the more space technicians have to operate. This is especially important in electronics manufacturing, so that workers have ample room for their hands, as well as any tools being used.
To maximize versatility, Luxo also offers a variety of optional eyepieces and objectives, which greatly expand the capability of the System 273.
For example, when 10x eyepieces are paired with a 0.5x objective, the working distance is increased to nearly eight inches. Please see the chart below for complete optical performance of each combination.
Several types of stands and illumination sources are also available. For mounting, users can choose from traditional pole and boom stands, as well as heavy duty articulating arms. Articulating arms provide a full range of motion and enable users to move the microscope vertically and horizontally. It can also be pushed out of the way when not in use. Light sources include LED, fluorescents and fiber optics, and are offered in multiple configurations and color temperatures.
