Fantastic, if they were reliable

I bought these tweezers as part of a Weller kit. They are expensive, so you expect leading quality and functionality.

They didn't work after about 5 minutes from first use. As the temperature rises it gives an error. They were new so I wanted TEquipment to replace them, not just get them repaired. That process took months because a replacement was not immediately available.

The new ones didn't work either. Rather than waste months I took them apart and fixed them myself. The problem is that its a very hard to access design for how the heating element connects to the PCB. Very tricky to get good solder joints and that the assembly problem these units had; very floppy work. I was able to reflow the solder and they worked. Or at least they worked for the next 2-3 uses, now I'm back to the same dilemma; fix them or chuck them in the bin?

TEquipment response: Thank you for your feedback. Normally defective items like this can be replaced right out of our stock. In the event that we are out of stock it's possible there is a delay to get a replacement item. We understand this can be frustrating as it is certainly not the normal experience.
