Great scope for the budget conscious
5.0
Through all of my engineering life, I have used scopes from Tektronix, HP/Agilent, and LeCroy. On a couple of occasions, i have experienced the cheaper end of Rigol scopes.
I work for a startup, and money is always a concern, so when I had a need to buy a scope for my lab, I had a decision to make. It was buying a used lower spec Tek/HP/LeCroy, or buy a new and higher spec Rigol.
Well, since I am writing a positive review of the Rigol scope here, it's obvious which choice I made!!
The user interface can be a little confusing at first, but that's because I am a lot more familiar with the other brands' interfaces.
The display is very good. High resolution, and very clear. The widescreen allows me to see much more and the soft button menus on either side, disappear almost completely when they are not needed.
My biggest complaint has to be "The Knob" as it is referred to in the user manual. This is the small multi-function control knob at the top right of the display. It is used for many functions within menus, and it can rotated for selection and pressed to enter. It is too small for what it does. It's oversensitive and twitchy to use. I regularly make wrong selections because it moves when I press to select something.

Love this scope!
5.0
Just received the scope a few days ago, and already I can't imagine working without it. It seems to do everything well. I love the deep memory and 4G sampling. The screen is nice and big, and easy to navigate. Upgrading to the 350MHz bandwidth and the serial decode package was quick and easy. This is a lot of high quality scope for the money.
Tequipment support was great. I couldn't be home to sign for it, but one quick call to customer service and Brian took care of it immediately, getting it re-routed to a UPS holding facility.
Extremely happy with my new scope and Tequipment. I'll definitely be a repeat customer!

DS4024 is truly a great instrument
5.0
This scope is a great purchase. This is my 2nd time buying as I have one at home too. The 4024 has all the functions of all other scopes and much more. The only thing that annoys me is the noise floor jitters, especially when working with low voltage DC and analog signals... Industry designers should be able to add an auto-zero-like function which at least averages the noise per channel (say... with the probes attached to their respective grounds, or not) and subtract it out so the end-result is a cleaner baseline, and thus cleaner as an active signal as well.

Good price for the performace
5.0
I bought this to replace a 15 year old HP 500MHz Infinium. It has practically the same bandwidth, but with a much, much deeper memory and the same sample rates on 4 channels. The HP 3dB bandwidth was about 600MHz, this with the 350MHz option was about 560MHz. Much cheaper than any comparable scope, especially with the sale price including the 350MHz upgrade and serial decode. The waveform/s is comparable to many of the more expensive scopes on the market. The serial decode with the increased bandwidth has really come in handy.

This scope is awesome
5.0
This is a great scope. It's got all the functions of all our other scopes and much much more. I got it bundled with a free bandwidth upgrade and the decoder pack, which is awesome - no more counting edges. Everything is shown on screen. Comes with 4x 500MHz probes. The only drawbacks: there's no storage compartment in the scope given it's a large scope and the probe clips. The tips "stick" and don't close all the way, which can be annoying.

Great Scope
5.0
I haven’t had time to explore all the features of this scope, but I’m giving it five stars anyway because with what I have explored so far I’ve been well pleased. Plus, it's exceedingly feature-rich for its price point.
Of course, the last scope I had was a 50MHz analog from 1978 so perhaps I'm just really easy to please.
One feature I’m really enjoying is Print-to-usb-drive. Pressing the print button with a USB drive installed gives you consecutively numbered files at the root of the drive. A lot simpler than pasting up Polaroids from the scope camera!
The manual says 8GB max for the usb drive—those are cheap and 8G will hold a lot of screenshots and waveform dumps. I use a low-profile, 8G SanDisk Cruzer Fit that fits in the front slot even when the cover is on.
Of the protocol decoders I’ve only used rs-232, but what an incredible time-saver! It also seems pretty tolerant of protocol / speed errors (well, more tolerant than the Raspberry Pi’s UART).
I do wish the fan were quieter. It’s the loudest thing in the room when it’s on.
Also, I’m a little puzzled by the thickness of the waveforms as displayed, as I’m not exactly sure what I’m seeing,
So far I’m very pleased to have this scope & would recommend it without reservation.

Rigol DS4024

Very happy with this oscilloscope. Plenty of great features at a reasonable price for this hobbiest.
Also extremely happy with Tequipment customer support. When the first scope failed during 30-day evaluation period, Tequipment went out of their way to replace it quickly.

Feels like a steal
5.0
I've always wanted a good scope since having an analogue Tek about 18 years ago but didn't have the means or was occupied by something else. As a hobby, I like to investigate hardware and was using a Craftsman Professional digital multimeter to find signals on boards and troubleshoot hardware...always wishing I had a scope on my bench. As a professional penetration tester (ethical hacker), I sometimes find myself facing unknown hardware and tacking down communications was time consuming. Finally the time came, I started researching on the Internet which led me to the EEVblog.com (crazy smart folks here).
I searched through many posts about peoples experiences with different brands and came across an affordable alternative to the insanely awesome Agilent/Keysight 3000 series. I started doing my homework on different Rigol models and soon realized I was going to look at making up lost time and not get the entry level. Not that there isn't anything wrong with this, it's actually a great piece of gear and highly recommended across the internet. But, I like big screens and loads of options. I saw the DS4000 scopes had everything I wanted and noticed, at the time of purchase, Rigol was also giving away a free bandwidth upgrade to take the 200MHz DS4024 to a 350MHz DS4034, PLUS, free decoding options! On top of that, TEquipment was including a free scope case. I read reviews that said the case was nice but until I got it I couldn't have guessed it was as nice as it is. Very high quality case which, I imagine, will last as long as the scope it carries. I couldn't pass up this killer deal.
After using this scope for the past couple months I can't say enough good things about it. As a EE hobbyist and professional hacker I get quite a bit of use out of this device and recommend Rigol as a great alternative to the top dogs scopes. Sure there may be some features that aren't the greatest (FFT but really...it's not terrible unless that's your sole focus and at that point would't you have a dedicated piece of equipment?)
Last but not least, TEquipment is almost a unicorn company. They're online sellers, they have very real people ready to help and answer questions AND they have a ton of products to choose from, what more could you ask for?

Still early, but very pleased with purchase so far
5.0
This scope is feature packed and there is too much to learn in the short time I've had it, but I am very pleased so far. The user interface is reasonably intuitive, and makes good use of dedicated hard buttons and soft menus. A nice large screen.
My initial use of triggering options and the large memory convinces me I'll have an easy time debugging complex bugs with this scope.
Great features and performance for the price. Even though limited usage, I feel this deserves 5 stars. Will update this review if I learn otherwise after more experience with this scope.

DS4024
5.0
The Rigol DS4024 is a great scope compared to its competitors given its price. I have used many scopes in the past from Tektronix, Teledyne Lecroy, Agilent and Rigol beats them all. The user interface on the Rigol is slow, but compared to other scopes I don't notice the difference (i.e. they all have user interface idiosyncrasies). I purchased this scope with the promotional bandwidth upgrade and serial decode options. Something that normally costs $3000 and Rigol is giving away these upgrades! Other scope companies should get on the bandwagon and Rigol is the band!

Best Personal Scope
5.0
This is the best scope I have ever personally owned. While I have more than 50 years in electronics and have used scopes that cost more than a nice house, I was very impressed with this scope for my personal use. It exceeded all my expectations and its own specifications. It actually performed at the 500 MHz level although I only paid for the 350 MHz version (upgraded from 200 MHz). A real quality instrument head and shoulders above lesser scopes. I own TEK 2024, RIGOL MSO 1074, and SIGLENT SDS 1102X, all of which have some good points, but the RIGOL DS4024 is way better than any or all of them.

DS4024
5.0
I am very pleased with my DS4024 scope. Large viewing area, very fast refresh, almost everything you could want in a scope, and all for a price that unbelievably affordable for what it can do. Only nit is, some knobs work backward to what I am use to. It would be great if they could be changed in a software menu. I am going to try to find a way to reverse their rotation, if not, I will suggest to Rigol to add that option. If you are looking for a great scope at a good price, this may be your scope. Check it out.
