One of the Best Arb Function Generators Out There
5.0
The Rigol DG1032Z is one of the best function/arbitrary waveform generators you can buy. The interface is VERY intuitive and straight forward. No review is needed to get up and going.
This generator has a lot of other additional features built into it that make it worth the investment. Excellent tool for everyday electronics design engineering.

Rigol DG1032Z
5.0
I used this for designing and testing filters and receiver designs for a 10M QRP radio, so hobby non-commercial use.
The instrument is easy to use, fairly intuitive, still had to put attenuators in front of the DUT. Good value for the money, clean waveforms.
Used with DM3058E 5.5 digit DMM, MSO1104Z 100 Mhz Scope, DSA815/TG Spectrum Analyzer, HP 8753 Network Analyzer, HP 70K modular SA system.

Rigol DG1032Z
5.0
About three weeks ago, I purchased a Rigol DG1032Z waveform generator. First off, the purchase, shipping, and receipt experience from TEquipment was great.
I now have had a little experience with the generator developing filters and a signal amplifier for the 600 meter band (500 kHz). It has done everything I have wanted it to do. I am just a hobbyist and have not tested every function nor been too demanding. Signal frequency was right on compared to a Dana Racal 1992 counter that was calibrated against a GPS module. I have used the sine, sweep, and noise signals mostly and have not evaluated the other wave functions. The noise function worked well in combination with an SDR for testing the filters.
User interface is intuitive. I have only had to go to the manual a few times to find user settings available under "Utility," like how to set the output in dBm. Among the simple but nice things one can set are the numeric format for the display and a choice of start up with last settings or default. A petty annoyance is that the encoder often requires two "clicks" to change a value. The reason for that is understandable and is also seen with the Rigol oscilloscope.
The only thing I wish it had out of the box would be a built-in attenuator of -20 dB and/or -40 dB, but that is easily handled with an attenuator in series. Overall, I am quite pleased with the instrument.

Rigol DG1032Z
3.0
I bought the DG1032Z to work on a phase/frequency demodulation project. The instrument is easy to set up and use. The performance is good. I was able to accomplish what I set out to do.
On the down side, it is annoying to create the phase alignment for a second channel to produce a quadrature signal for feeding a demodulator. You have to manually change the phase of the unmodulated channel until you get zero out of your demodulator. There is no mechanism to have the DG1032Z automatically create a quadrature signal locked to the center frequency of your modulated signal.
Even more annoying, if you make a change to the modulated channel, the instrument starts the new signal at an arbitrary phase. It messes up the careful phase tuning you just created.
Every time you make a change, you have to manually re-adjust the phase relationship between the channels to obtain 90 degree phase difference between the modulated and unmodulated channels.
I hope the designers at Rigol create a firmware upgrade to deal with this issue. That would make the instrument a 5-star product.
Tequipment response: The feedback on this unit has been very positive. I forwarded these comments to the Rigol R&D team for their consideration on the firmware upgrade. Rigol is usually very responsive when they receive customer feedback.

Good for the price, if it worked right
4.0
I was impressed with the unit for the price, it is full of features and has a reasonably good interface. I did find a number of design faults with it and a defect. All that said, I love the unit for it's price, it got way more bells and whistles than I need, and works fine over the LXI interface.
DESIGN FAILURES:
. The power cord bumps into the case the way it is designed - demonstrates a lack of design.
. The BNC connectors on the front are very tight and close to the buttons. If you add a T connector to the BNCs, it becomes almost impossible to access the buttons.
. You need to 'align phases' every time you adjust the scope to get the phases alinged between signals. not sure why this isn't done by default
. The sync signals are exposed on BNCs on the back of the unit which makes it hard to connect to. This is perhaps the biggest design fault
. The output offset is a function of the signal amplitude - if you have a larger signal amplitude, the lower your offset voltage can be.
DEFECTIVE :
The sync signal on my unit is very noisy and not present at all at high frequencies. There is also an unreasonable amount of jitter between the sync signal and the sync signal.
I contacted the MFG and they had me contact tequipment - they sent out a replacement right away. Has not arrived so I'm not sure if it'll fix my problem - but they were super good about it and made the process easy.

Well Worth the Money
5.0
This was one of many Rigol (DM3058, DP831, DS1074Z) units I had purchased in a single order. Considering I had never used their product before, I was taking a risk. Now, after nearly 2 months of daily use, I am impressed with the unit in nearly every way. It is above and beyond what I had expected. Very easy to use, full of features that are extremely useful. I mainly work in the "Pro Audio" industry working on anything from large format analog/digital consoles to vintage out board gear. I consider it to be an essential tool both on a bench and in the field.
Highly recommend it, you will not find a better unit anywhere near the same price!

Excellent function generator, but two small issues
4.0
This is a very good quality and very accurate signal generator. Better than other units that cost way more. I'm glad that I chose this model. There are two small issues though. One is that the AC power cord that comes with the device does not fit properly. It's a 90 degree cord and it should be a straight cord because it hits the rubber corner protection things and doesn't fully seat. The second is that for almost $700 I would think that it would come in some kind of basic protective case. It does not. Just a cardboard box.

Rigol DG1032Z
5.0
Bought the unit based on
• 2 channels
• Graphic interface
• Ethernet SCPI interface
• Rigol Reputation
• TEquipment Reputation
Bought the Rigol DG1032Z to replace an Agilent ARB. I am usually picky but was impressed. To start TEquipment shipped the unit a day late but with a faster service so the unit came right on time.
Out of the box it was intuitive to operate so then I went on to program it via SCPI commands. While the command manual is lengthy it was not written by a native speaker so some of it is a little confusing. None the less in two days I was able to write a complete ARB application for its first task.
Glad I bought it.

Tons of Features High Quality and Low Price
5.0
1. Front panel controls combined with the on screen menus are very intuitive and no manual is required :)
2. I am really impressed with the amount of arbitrary waveforms that are available.
3. Many types of modulation is supported and try to find that in this price range with any other company.
4. It takes very little time to setup different types of modulation scenarios.
5. If I had to complain and I don't want to but it would of been nice to have a BNC cable with alligator clips included.

Excellent unit for an affordable price
5.0
I bought this unit to do frequency response and square wave testing on amplifiers. I had originally bought a unit in the $500 range from a different company, but I sent it back because it did not meet specifications. As you can imagine, I immediately tested this unit for specifications using a Tektronix oscilloscope once it arrived and I am happy to report that it performs well within advertised specs on the standard waveforms. I have not used the arbitrary waveform function yet.
The quick guide is easy to read and understand and the menus are intuitive. Be sure to purchase a BNC cable with alligator clips since it does not come with one.
If I have to list one complaint, it would be that the internal fan is a little noisy in my otherwise quiet shop. I intend to change it for a low noise fan once the warranty period is over.
Overall, very happy this purchase. I had never bought this brand before, but very good first impresion.
