We have two units that stopped working shorty after purchase. I think it is a wiring issue. The error registers as a grip error.

I used to the weller version, which I found better for the 0201 sized parts. This is just too bulky for it. But if you have a Hakko unit, then this is the only choice you have.

I decide for the Hakko hot tweezer because I sometimes damaged boards instead of fixing them. I lost my time to fix twice a PCB, wired burned tracks, what a mess. Despite their relative high price, those Hakko's assure me a a perfect and quick repair job. Try to get a second hand PSU to keep price down. FM2022 may be powered by forgotten FM202 that sell for peanuts.

If you need to remove dip/tsop packages, this is awesome. Not a whole lot of use outside of that and it is fairly expensive.
