The Photosynthetic Light (PAR) Smart Sensor is intended to measure light intensity for the frequencies relevant for photosynthesis. This sensor has a measurement range of 0 to 2500 umol/m2/sec over wavelengths from 400 to 700 nm. Enclosed in a anodized aluminum housing with acrylic diffuser and o-ring seal, this model has a 3m cable; a light sensor bracket and light sensor level are recommended.

I can barely describe how impressed I am with this product. Usually the equipment I work with is crazy expensive so when we decided to use this product on our most recent study I was skeptical due to the price of the units. The ease of use is incredible and I actually had a unit get more than five foot under water on a rise, it still continued to collect data the entire time, now I did take the unit out of circulation on my other deployments but the fact that it still worked is impressive.
