Meter has all the functions an HVAC guy would need. I have used it in some very noisy EMI/RFI places and never missed a beat, unlike the UEI meter I replaced with this.
Only a couple little things keep it from being a 5 star. First of all, this meter is physically very big, which makes it awkward or impossible to use in really tight places. The second thing is just an annoyance really. When you turn the meter on to measure AC voltage, it doesn't automatically measure amps too. You have to press a key to show that part of the display. It does measure volt and amps at the same time.
It's a rugged meter, and like a big smartphone, you get used to the large size.

I had a Fieldpiece SC57 for about 6 years and it was still working great, but got stolen. I bought the SC640 meter to replace it. I was a little surprised by the size, it's quite a bit longer than my SC57. It has a lot more features though. I was surprised at how handy it is having a jaw flashlight or a swivel head, They seem kind of like a gimmick, but it really does make a difference! I love the built in magnets for hanging it off the side of the AC unit. And the backlit dial instead of just the display being backlit, awesome!

This product was exactly what I expected it to be and for the price it has all the features you could want, the only thing I'm going have to get used to is the size of if, it's longer than I thought it would be but I don't think it will be an issue just something I'll have to get used to, but as for the overall function of the unit I am very pleased and would recommend it to others.
