The Fieldpiece SC54ACMEK swivel-head clamp meter is packed with all the electrical measurements HVACR professionals use everyday. It's fast reacting, easy-to-use, and rugged. Extended temperature tolerances allow for testing in refrigerators and on rooftops, and the display is unaffected by temperatures from -4°F to 158°F.
The new 10000 count display is fast reacting and shows large values and small, without moving the decimal point or changing units. Plus the SC54ACMEK works with any Fieldpiece accessory head to further expand tech's testing capabilities without having to purchase multiple meters.
- Fast Testing
- Expanded temperature tolerances -- allows for testing in refrigerators and on rooftops
- Bright backlight.
- Capacitance -- to test questionable motor start and run capacitors
- Swivel Head -- for a clear view at any angle
- Frequency (Hz) through the clamp -- no more unnecessarily breaking the circuit
- Modular Expandability
- True RMS
The ADMN2 is a portable dual port manometer accessory head for use with our modular multimeters (DMMs) and instruments. Measures gas pressure, static pressure and pressure differential. The ADMN2 includes a zero adjust and the Auto Power-Off (APO) function conserves battery life. Disable APO for data logging. The ADMN2 measures pressure between -60inWC and 60inWC (inches of water column) and -150.0 to 150.0 mBar. The ADMN2 also measures P1 or P2 pressure readings and calculates the difference between P1 and P2. Take static pressure measurements using the resolution mode of 0.01inWC or 0.01mBar.
How Does it Work?
Use the ADMN2 to measure gas pressure, static pressure and pressure differential. Simply connect to COM and Volts jacks on your meter using any Fieldpiece test leads with removable probe tips. For Fieldpiece “stick-style” meters, adapters and handles, slide the head directly onto the unit. Select the mVDC range on your meter. Remove the rubber strip on the face of the ADMN2 to access the ZERO button. Press the ZERO button while the tubes are disconnected to calibrate the meter to ambient pressure. Then use the meter as you wish to perform the following tasks:
- Connect a single hose to get the gauge pressure relative to the ambient or ZERO pressure.
- Connect both hoses if you want to see relative pressure, P1 minus P2. Select P1, P2, or P1 - P2.
Then select English (inches of water column) or Metric (mBar) units. To disable the auto-power-off, remove the rubber covering and flip the switch below. Auto Power-Off is helpful for conserving the battery; but if you are data logging with Fieldpiece model DL3, you will want to disable this feature. If you are in an environment where the temperature is noticeably changing while you are taking your reading, disconnect the meter from the hoses and ZERO it relative to ambient pressure before each reading.
Checking Gas Pressure on a Regulator.
Measure gas pressure and test regulators quickly with the ADMN2 dual-port manometer.
- Screw the brass fitting into the pressure port on the regulator.
- Put unit into operation (i.e. turn on the furnace and have furnace ignite, as if running it in normal operation.)
- This will give you the pressure coming out of the regulator.
- If you suspect high or low inlet pressure into the regulator, hook the manometer up to the inlet port in the same manner you connect to the outlet port. You can check both the inlet and the outlet simultaneously and see the pressure drop across the regulator if you connect both tubes at the same time.
- See manufacturer's specification for the specifications on target inlet and outlet pressure for a given regulator or piece of combustion equipment.
Field Pressure Calibration.
Remove the rubber strip on the face of the ADMN2 covering the ZERO button. Press the ZERO button to zero both the P1 and P2 to ambient pressure. Disconnect the hoses from P1 and P2 to properly calibrate to ambient pressure.
Resolution Modes (0.1 and 0.01).
There are two modes of resolution on the ADMN2. The 0.1 mode is useful for most applications. When measuring low pressures, 0.01 will likely be the best mode for meaningful testing. The most common circumstance for 0.01 mode is measuring static pressure across a blower. Only when using 0.01 mode, the display of your meter will show the true measurement X 10. So if the true measurement is -0.02, your meter will show -0.2. This is done to optimize resolution.
Using the RMA316 Manometer Adapter.
Used for 5/16" pressure outlet ports.
- Shut off main gas supply to furnace.
- Move the gas valve switch to "OFF" position.
- Use a 3/32" hex wrench to loosen the outlet pressure tap screw. Rotate screw counterclockwise one revolution to open.
- Connect the ADMN2 tubing to the smaller (3/16") end of the adapter and the other (5/16") end of the adapter into the of the adapter tube.
- Slide the 5/16" adapter tube over the outlet pressure boss (port) to seal. Overlap the pressure boss by at least 3/8" to prevent leakage.
Competitive Advantages.
The modular design of the ADMN2 gives it a distinct advantage over other dual-port manometers in the field. Remoting the ADMN2 with our detachable test leads allows you to measure pressure in hard to reach places. The included 3/16” to 5/16” adapters allow you to measure gas pressure on more makes and models of gas appliances as well.
