45˚ Wide-Angle Lens
High-Resolution Diagnostics
The FLIR T620bx is one of the top camera models in the FLIR T-Series. The T620bx features a large temperature range of -40°F to 1,202°F with optional max to 3,632°F. Thermal sensitivity is 40mK, making subtle temperature differences easily visible. This version of the T620bx features a 45-degree wide-angle lens, perfect for capturing broad scenes or working in tight areas. Other lens options are available as packages with the camera, including 15-degree telephoto and 25-degree standard. As a "bx" model camera, the T620bx features FLIR Alarm Alerts. Alarm Alerts can be set to alert users to specific levels of dew point and humidity, as well as to areas where insulation is lacking. These alarms are unique to "bx" cameras.
FLIR T620bx Specifications
UltraMax™ is a powerful super-resolution technology which effectively increases IR image resolution by up to four times while reducing image noise by 50 percent. Measurement accuracy is also increased due to a smaller measurement spot size. UltraMax works by capturing 16 thermal images per second then combining them together in-camera. This feature is available on the T620bx. Read on for a more detailed description.
The T620bx thermal camera features an integrated compass. When active, this device automatically embeds camera pointing direction in thermal images, making it easy to relocate image capture sites.
The T620bx infrared camera also features a built-in GPS device. This device can embed exact location coordinates in thermal images. This makes relocating image capture sites even easier and can save lots of time during inspections.
Certain FLIR infrared cameras feature a viewfinder for easier image capture in bright, outdoor environments where the touchscreen would be hard to see due to glare. Ufortunately, the T620bx does not include this feature.

FLIR UltraMax is a unique super-resolution technology exclusive to FLIR. UltraMax is only available on select T-Series cameras, including the T620 and T620bx. UltraMax is able to increase the native resolution of these FLIR infrared cameras by up to four times while reducing noise by up to 50%. This is possible because when active, UltraMax captures 16 thermal images every second. These images are combined in-camera to create IR images with 4x the camera's native resolution. This increase in pixels also increases measurement accuracy due to a smaller measurement spot size. All told, UltraMax is capable of increasing the T620bx's native 640x480 pixel resolution to an impressive 1,280x960 pixel resolution. Take a look at the images below for an illustration of how UltraMax works.
FLIR MSX is a type of thermal fusion or image blending technology, however it is different from other similar technologies. MSX basically captures visible light images along with all infrared images captured with the T620bx. High-contrast highlights and details are extracted from these visible light pictures and embedded in corresponding infrared images, creating blended IR images with increased detail where structural details and even words are crisp and clear. Blending levels can be adjusted in-camera after image capture or during image review. Check the images below for an MSX image comparison.
The T620bx was designed specifically for professionals working in building diagnostic and inspection applications. That's why FLIR included helpful features like Alarm Alerts, 10 spotmeters, 5 box areas, and six additional measurement presets. The T620bx also features auto and manual focus options with intuitive controls. The camera's 8x digital zoom controls are also intuitively located right next to the shutter release. FLIR has also integrated a rotating optics block into the T620bx. This optics block is capable of 120 degrees of up and down movement, making image capture easy no matter the angle.
The T620bx infrared camera supports wireless communication with mobile devices and certain FLIR and Extech handheld meters.
A Full Line-up of Accessories Gives You Room to Grow
The T620bx infrared camera features a 4.3-inch capacitive LCD touchscreen. The screen serves as a viewfinder on the T620bx. From this screen, users can adjust measurement modes, set up alarm alerts, and control FLIR MSX and UltraMax technologies. FLIR has also integrated its Auto Orientation technology into the T620bx, which ensures that screen images and overlays remain upright no matter the camera's orientation.
The T620bx features a built-in compass and GPS device. These features enable you to embed exact GPS coordinates and camera pointing direction in thermal images. This makes relocating exact image capture sites much easier.
With the T620bx, annotations can be made on thermal images in several ways. Text comments can be made using the touchscreen keyboard. Voice annotations can be made using the included Bluetooth headset. Users can also sketch or draw directly on IR images via the touchscreen.
