Inspection & Diagnostic Power
The T620bx is a powerful, fully featured thermal imaging camera for building inspections and diagnostic duties. The camera features high-resolution 640x480 infrared imaging as well as a temperature range of -40°F to 1,202°F and thermal sensitivity of 40mK, providing plenty of capability for most inspection applications. As a "bx" model camera, the T620bx features FLIR Alarm Alerts. Alarm Alerts can be set up to alert users to detected levels of humidity and dew point, as well as areas where insulation is lacking, making inspections faster and easier. The T620bx also features multiple measurement modes. These include 10 spotmeters, 5 box areas, isotherm, auto hot/cold spot, and Delta T.
FLIR T620bx Specifications
UltraMax™ is a powerful super-resolution technology which effectively increases IR image resolution by up to four times while reducing image noise by 50 percent. Measurement accuracy is also increased due to a smaller measurement spot size. UltraMax works by capturing 16 thermal images per second then combining them together in-camera. This feature is available on the T620bx. Read on for a more detailed description.
The T620bx thermal camera features an integrated compass. When active, this device automatically embeds camera pointing direction in thermal images, making it easy to relocate image capture sites.
The T620bx infrared camera also features a built-in GPS device. This device can embed exact location coordinates in thermal images. This makes relocating image capture sites even easier and can save lots of time during inspections.
Certain FLIR infrared cameras feature a viewfinder for easier image capture in bright, outdoor environments where the touchscreen would be hard to see due to glare. Ufortunately, the T620bx does not include this feature.

FLIR has developed its own unique form of super-resolution technology called UltraMax. UltraMax is different from other super-resolution techniques like interpolation and pixel averaging. For UltraMax to work, the T660 must be handheld. When active, UltraMax captures 16 individual thermal images per second when the shutter is released. Due to natural handheld movement, each image will be slightly offset from the others, allowing UltraMax to combine the images together into one IR image with four times the resolution and half as much noise as the original images. Measurement spot size is also decreased when more pixels are added, resulting in greater measurement accuracy with UltraMax. In the end, UltraMax is capable of increasing the T620bx's native 640x480 pixel resolution to an impressive 1,280x960 pixel resolution. The images below show a basic overview of how UltraMax works and how it is able to increase measurement accuracy.
MSX stands for Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging. When active on the T620bx thermal camera, MSX captures a visible light image along with all infrared images. The high-contrast highlights and small detailed elements like words and numbers are extracted from the visible light image and embedded in the thermal image in real-time, resulting in a blended IR image in which visible details are clear and sharp. Blending percentage can be adjusted in-camera or during analysis to dial in the perfect image. Check out the images below to see real examples of FLIR infrared images and the power of MSX technology.
The T620bx has been designed specifically for inspectors and building diagnostic professionals. That's why FLIR included helpful features like Alarm Alerts, 10 spotmeters, and 5 box areas. The T620bx also features auto and manual focus options, with controls located on the optics block and on the shutter release button. The camera's 8x digital zoom can also be controlled from right next to the shutter release. FLIR has also integrated a rotating optics block into the T620bx. This optics block is capable of 120 degrees of up and down movement, making image capture easy no matter the angle.
The T620bx infrared camera supports wireless communication with mobile devices and certain FLIR and Extech handheld meters.
A Full Line-up of Accessories Gives You Room to Grow
The T620bx thermal camera features a 4.3-inch capacitive LCD touchscreen. This bright, large screen allows you to frame images before capture and review images after capture. Also from this screen, most camera functions can be adjusted via simple touch menus, and measurement modes and alarm alerts can be set. FLIR Auto Orientation ensures that screen images and overlays remain upright no matter the camera's orientation.
Easily store and refer back to picture locations with automatically embedded pointing direction and geo-location for captured thermal images. This saves time locating problem areas found during a field inspection and recognizing locational patterns for any issues.
With the T620bx, annotations can be made on thermal images in several ways. Text comments can be made using the touchscreen keyboard. Voice annotations can be made using the included Bluetooth headset. Users can also sketch or draw directly on IR images via the touchscreen.
FLIR is one of the foremost thermal imager manufacturers on the market today. The company is known for its industry-leading 10-5-2 thermal camera warranty, available on all its thermal imaging cameras. This impressive warranty gives you extended 10-year coverage on the IR detector, 5 years on field-replaceable batteries, and 2 years on parts and labor.
