The FLIR T620 thermal camera is a powerful industrial IR camera designed for areas where intensive inspections are required regularly. The camera features high-resolution thermal imaging at 640x480 pixels (307, 200 total pixels) as well as a large temperature range covering -40°C to 650°C (-40°F to 1,202°F) with optional max increase to 2,000°C (3,632°F). This version of the T620 includes a 15-degree lens. This is a telephoto lens intended for longer range thermal imaging where the camera is relatively far away from the subject. Other lens packages are also available to expand the camera's capability for mid-range and close-up applications. The T620 also features 40mK thermal sensitivity, a 30Hz frame rate, and lightning-fast automatic and manual focus options.
resolution technology available only on T-Series thermal cameras. UltraMax effectively increases the thermal resolution of the T620 infrared camera by four times while also reducing noise by fifty percent. That means that with UltraMax, the thermal resolution on the T620 is increased from the camera's native 640x480 resolution to 1,280x960 resolution with more than 1.2 million pixels total. This resolution is actually better than the common 720p resolution you might find on a television or consumer video camera. UltraMax technology is totally different from other scaling techniques like interpolation and pixel averaging. Unlike those technologies, UltraMax uses the natural movement of the human body to capture 16 slightly offset thermal images per second. When these images are combined through UltraMax to create one final high-resolution thermal image, measurement spot size is decreased because of the increase in pixels covering the same area. This actually increases thermal accuracy on smaller details. See the images below for an illustration of how UltraMax works.
FLIR MSX is a powerful IR technology which makes it easier to make out details in thermal images. In typical thermal images, visible elements like depth and sharp detail are lost in favor of infrared temperature data displayed as colors. To get around this, visible light reference images are often used in review and reporting. FLIR MSX effectively eliminates the need for these reference images. By extracting the sharp, high-contrast details from visible light images and embedding them in corresponding infrared images, MSX creates fully radiometric thermal images with visible light details. This makes it easier to locate areas with thermal issues and saves time in reporting. The images below show the awesome difference that MSX makes.
Above all else, the T620 infrared camera is designed to make plant inspections and maintenance duties easier, faster, and less stressful for professionals who do these jobs regularly. That's why FLIR included a number of features to make using the T620 easier in these areas, like the camera's rotating optics block, capable of 120 degrees of up and down movement. The optics block rests firmly in the operator's left hand while the hand strap secures the right hand. When in the hand strap, buttons are within reach to focus, capture, and make image adjustments even with gloves or other PPE. The camera's 4.3-inch capacitive touch screen is also within reach from this position. Through the touch screen, one can adjust most camera and measurement settings and review images. FLIR has also included its proprietary Auto Orientation feature with the T620 to keep the touch screen upright no matter how the camera is held.
FLIR MeterLink opens up even more measuring capabilities with the T620 infrared camera. MeterLink is a proprietary technology from FLIR which uses a Bluetooth connection to link the T620 thermal camera with select FLIR and Extech clamp and moisture meters. This can be very useful when trying to find the cause of a thermal event because meter readings are shown in real-time and are automatically embedded in thermal images. This is another way in which FLIR is streamlining inspection and maintenance with the T620 and other T-Series cameras.

The Flir T620 has one of the highest resolution counts in the industry. A 64- x 480 array = 307,200 pixel count for better crisper pictures, great detection capabilities and temperature accuracy as well
