Compact and powerful, the Extech EX470 12-Function True RMS Professional MultiMeter provides the versatility of multiple meters in one convenient device. The autoranging EX470 measures AC/DC voltage and current, resistance, diode, and temperature. It also includes a built-in, non-contact infrared thermometer that allows you to detect invisible hot spots, as well as a True RMS function to ensure accurate AC voltage and current measurements without distortion from electronic devices. A large, backlit display and 1-inch high digits allow for easy reading, while the ergonomically designed housing offers comfortable, one-handed operation.
12 Functions in One Convenient Meter
The EX470 offers multiple functions so professionals can carry one meter into the field instead of several. The autoranging EX470 measures AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, resistance, diode test, capacitance, and continuity, all with +/-0.5 percent basic accuracy. The unit has low current capability, measuring down to 0.1uA, and features input fuse protection and mis-connection warnings. A Type K thermometer is built in for surface or air temperature measurements.
For greater convenience, the unit comes with a multi-position tilt stand, a Velcro strap for hanging, and a protective holster with handy test lead holder. CAT III test leads are included.
True RMS Prevents Distortion from Electronic Devices
It can be very difficult to make accurate current and voltage readings in industrial and commercial applications when electronic devices are present. Fluorescent lights, motor drives, computer power supplies, and other electronic systems can distort the AC waveform, making it hard for averaging meters to get an accurate read. The thermometer has an eight-to-one distance to target ratio, allowing measurements in areas that are normally difficult or unsafe to reach.

Readings on the EX470 are displayed on a large, backlit LCD screen with easy-to-read, 1-inch-tall digits. The 2,000-count screen offers high resolution over wide ranges, and features data hold to "freeze" the information on the screen for longer viewing. To preserve your batteries, the unit also features an auto power-off.
