Jammed after modest usage
1.0
The spring is positioned in front of the piston. Since the spring is coated with vacuum grease, flakes of solder build up on the spring, which cannot be pushed out by the metal rod. Each release of the piston will shock some of the built-up solder loose and drop them on the board. After a modest use of ~30 soldering joints, mine was completely jammed. Once I took it apart, the spring is covered by flakes of solder.

Overall a good product. It's larger than expected, but that shouldn't be considered a fault. Pulled solder easily.

No need to spend more, this is mostly metal, solid, and does the job.

Much better than the plastic ones

The metal construction and cheap price make this a great tool. Suction is great, easy to hold and depress the plunger with one hand. Hasn't clogged on me yet.
