This is handy to have on hand. I was in the market for a resistance decade box and looked at the IET models, etc., but for the price I couldn't say that they would be a hundred times more useful to me than this. Now of course this is not nearly as accurate as an IET box, but for dropping into a simple oscillator circuit or feedback loop just to try some things out, it covers the 90% case at a nice price and is fun to build. It would be nice if there were a better method of strain relief provided for the alligator clip wires, but at the end of the day, it works just fine and I am already getting a lot of use out of it.

This kit came with great instructions easy to follow and ended up very nice. Over all and for the price was a perfect kit. Great for the beginner or someone wanting to gain better soldering skills. The resistors are all 5% so only usable as a general reference not a calibration device. I would recommend for the price.

Good Introductory Kit

Simple little setup that serves as an introduction to soldering, simple PCB layout and some basic electric concepts. I actually use this frequently as 2.2K, 4.7K, 33K & 47K are the reference EOLRs for various circuits on the systems I service and it's nice to know that should I need to troubleshoot a circuit, I will never be lacking a proper (temporary) EOLR. All included resistors are 5% tolerance and 1/2 watt so high currents or super precise values are not what this kit is meant for. My one gripe would be the included crocodile clip leads and the intended way they are to be installed. They are rather thin and flimsy to start and then you just sort of shove them through a small hole in the faceplate (as you can see in the promo pictures). I decided to instead route the outputs to banana jack binding posts which I mounted on the top of the unit which allows connecting a variety of test leads which seems a much more ideal way to go about it. If you are interested in making stuff and electronics and by virtue of that, soldering etc. this is a great first kit and I recommend it.
