Amplifiers amplify a sensor or other electronic signal. Preamps can be used with either an oscilloscope or spectrum analyzer. Preamps expand the resolution bandwidth and increase the sensitivity of these instruments. This allows for measurements of very low amplitude voltages and signals and faster-than-normal speeds. The high gain and low noise of these preamps further contributes to increased sensitivity and overall system improvement.
