Founded in 1964, Meiji Techno is the third largest microscope manufacturer in Japan. Known throughout the world, Meiji Techno products can be found throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. US distribution is handled by its American subsidiary, Meiji Techno America, based in San Jose, California.
The Meiji Techno product line is extremely diverse, with products ranging from entry level, to highly advanced, with specialized equipment for medical and research applications.
Meiji Techno products are easily customized, and offer a high level of versatility to the user. Many models are completely modular, allowing users to build their own microscope from a selection of high-grade optics, stands and illumination, as can be seen in the popular EM series. Meiji Techno recognizes that not all applications are the same, and have structured this line so that users can select individual components to build a custom system.
Meiji Techno manufacturers a wide variety of specialized microscopes, designed for specific and unique users. There are several models for dermatology, as well as gout testing, each including specific objectives and illumination sources perfectly suited for the application. There are also a number of products specifically configured for the study of asbestos. The microscopes were designed to conduct research according to specific NIOSH and OSHA guidelines, and contain several specialized components.
Meiji Techno also offers a wide variety of microscopes for many modes of observation. In addition to standard brightfield usage, it has a full line of epi-fluorescent, polarizing, darkfield and phase contrast products. Furthermore, the company offers a full line of optional optics, enabling users to add additional modes of observation after their initial purchase.
