- Consider Advanced Features
- PIP Mode allows either of the computer inputs to be inset in a window over either of the video inputs or vice versa, and may be placed anywhere on the screen
- Chroma key composting or chroma keying is used to layer two images or videos based on chroma range. Better known application is for live action video using a green screen
- Lumakey. Luminance keying is used to layer two images or videos based on brightness/contrast level. Better known application is to key out a white background behind a foreground subject. Typically used when working with images, especially grayscale images
- AutoSet feature provides easy setup by automatically sizing and positioning the computer image to fit exactly on the video screen.
- Key Mode allows computer graphics to be keyed over an external Composite or YC signal, and may be faded in and out
- Mix Mode permits Seamless Cut, Fade or Wipe transitions between input sources
- tereo audio processing and switching, which controls audio level, audio sampling frequencies and adjustable audio delay independently for each input.
- Variable Zoom / Shrink enlarges or shrinks any part of the computer screen and position controls allow movement to any area desired
- Freeze
- Digital Flicker Elimination or Anti-Flicker Filter circuitry
- High sampling rate insures crisp, clear images
- Full bandwidth chroma sampling insures faithfully reproduced, high resolution colors.
- Temporal interpolation greatly improves frame rate conversion by analyzing and merging successive frames
- Pixel Level Motion Adaptive Diagonal Interpolation insures high quality de-interlacing of PAL and NTSC signals
- Composite Video Genlock (generator locking) insures precise synchronization of the incoming signals by providing a wide Subcarrier lock range with SC phase adjustment. Generally speaking Genlock is used to synchronize two signals feeding a third device.

Multi-Window Processors
Multiviewers or Multi-Window Processors allow multiple video images to be displayed on a single display in different windows. It is analogous to TV PIP (Picture-in-Picture) except with much more control.
- Fully control the sizes of each window
- Add a background image (wallpaper) such as a logo in place of an input
- Settings saved even after powered down
- User defined presets (controllable directly from the front panel or external communications) so window preferences can be toggled

Routing Switchers
Routing Switchers allow multiple signal sources to be routed to destinations without moving input and output cables. Routing Switchers can be for a variety of different video and audio formats.
Routing Switchers can operate as standalone switchers with local and remote control. However, their real power is evidenced when connected to a TVOne C2 Series Scaler/Switcher. In their role as Expansion Modules for the C2 Series, the connection between the units via the Options Connector allows seamlessly integration of the S2 unit into the C2. From an operational and control standpoint, the additional inputs become part of the C2 connected Scaler/Switcher.
Factors to consider when selecting Routing Switchers
- Analog or Digital Signal Type
- RGB
- YPbPr
- Composite Video
- S-Video
- Stereo
- HDMI
- DVI
- SD/HD-SDI
- Number of Inputs and Outputs
- Bandwidth (MHz)
Splitters / Taps/ WDMs / Amplifiers
Find Splitters, Taps, WDMs, and Amplifiers for CATV, L-BAND, and Fiber Optic video applications.
Taps like splitters are used to split video signals, but they are used at the trunk, where the splitter is used at the dead-end. For example, a tap is used at the service entrance for a restaurant with multiple rooms. Splitters might be used in each room with several TVs.
WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) equipment is used to combine several optical signals into a single fiber optic cable using different wavelengths. Amplifiers are used to increase the distance of cable runs by boosting the quality of the video signal.
Video Scalers Switchers
These multi-format products provide video signal conversion and glitch-free switching between a variety of computer and video input signal formats. Some models go well beyond scaling and switching and include Picture-in-Picture, Keying and Mixing. A key step in the process of up-converting NTSC or PAL video signals is de-interlacing the incoming video and converting it into a progressive scan signal. These products include motion compensation, 3:2 pull-down and aspect ratio conversion.
Other advanced features for Video Scaler and Switcher
- Key Mode. Allows computer graphics to be keyed over an external Composite, YC or SDI signal. The keyed image may be faded in and out
- Mixing. Permits Cut, Fade or Wipe transitions between input sources
- PIP Mode allows either of the computer inputs to be inset in a window over either of the video inputs or vice versa. The PIP window may be placed anywhere on the screen
- Edge Blending feature allows feathering any or all of the edges; multiple images can be aligned vertically, horizontally, or both to create unusual displays. Using multiple units, any number of images can be blended. Gamma correction is employed to compensate for many of the problems faced when blending projectors
- Genlock. Insures precise synchronization of the incoming signals by providing a wide Subcarrier lock range with Subcarrier phase adjust. Generally speaking Genlock is used to synchronize two signals feeding a third device.
