The Fluke T5-600 and Fluke 323 are different types of meters yet they perform many of the same functions. The T5-600 is an electrical tester which can measure a wide range of variables. The 323 is a clamp meter which is more suited to measuring high levels of current. Read on for a more in-depth look at the differences between these tools.
Measurement Capabilities
The T5-600 can measure voltage up to 600 V AC/DC and resistance up to 1000 Ω. This meter can also measure current up to 100 A AC using its integrated open jaw. Continuity tests can also be performed with this meter. The T5-600 features integrated test leads which stow in the back of each tester. These detachable SlimReach™ test probes are customized for national electrical standards and accept optional accessories such as clips and specialty probes.
The 323 can also measure voltage up to 600 V AC/DC as well as resistance up to 4000 Ω. This meter can measure current up to 400 A AC using its integrated clamp. Continuity tests can also be performed with this meter.
Special Features
The T5-600 includes a continuity beeper, an auto shut off mode to preserve battery life, and an optional holster which can attach to your belt. This meter has also been drop tested to withstand drops up to 10 feet (3 meters). The T5-600 features Fluke's integrated SlimReach™ test probes which are customized for national electrical standards and accept optional accessories such as clips and specialty probes. The meter also features a DC polarity indicator and a digital display.
The 323 offers True RMS AC response and includes a data hold function. If you need a more robust clamp meter with additional measurement functions for capacitance, frequency, AC and DC current, and contact temperature as well as features like a backlight and min/max, then we recommend you check out other clamp meters in the Fluke 320 Series such as the Fluke 324 and Fluke 325.
Safety & Warranty
The T5-600 has been rated to IP52 against water and dust ingress. The T5-600 is also rated to CAT III 600 V and comes standard with a 2-year warranty. The 323 has been rated to IP30 and features a safety rating of CAT III 600 V and CAT IV 300 V. The 323 also includes a standard 2-year warranty.
