Comparison Summary
The Fluke T5-1000 and Fluke T5-600 are both reliable electrical testers which automatically measure volts AC and volts DC with precise digital resolution. Each tester includes Fluke's accurate OpenJaw™ current measurement which allows you to measure AC current up to 100 A using each meter's integrated open jaw and without breaking the circuit. Read on for an in-depth breakdown of the differences and similarities between these meters.
Measurement Capabilities
Both the T5-1000 and T5-600 can measure voltage, continuity, resistance and current. Both meters can measure current up to 100 A AC using the integrated open jaw, as well as resistance up to 1000 Ω. Both meters include integrated test leads which stow in the back of each tester. These detachable SlimReach™ test probes are customized for national electrical standards and accept optional accessories such as clips and specialty probes.
The main difference between these two meters is the level of voltage they can measure. This is indicated in the name of each meter - the T5-1000 can measure up to 1000 V AC/DC and the T5-600 can measure up to 600 V AC/DC.
Special Features
Other than the different voltage measurement range, these meters share almost all other features. Both include a continuity beeper, an auto shut off mode to preserve battery life, and an optional holster which can attach to your belt. Both have also been drop tested to withstand drops up to 10 feet (3 meters).
Both meters also include FLuke's proprietary detachable SlimReach™ test probes which are customized for national electrical standards and accept optional accessories such as clips and specialty probes. Both also include a DC polarity indicator and a digital display.
Safety & Warranty
Both the T5-1000 and T5-600 have been rated to IP52 against water and dust ingress. The T5-1000 is safety rated to CAT III 1000 V and the T5-600 is rated to CAT III 600 V. Both meters come standard with a 2-year warranty.
