Fluke Fluke 289 vs Fluke 87v 87-5

Summary of the Comparison of the Fluke 289 vs the Fluke 87V (87-5) Multimeter:

The Fluke 289 and 87V (87-5) are two of Fluke's most popular multimeters and worth comparing. Both meters
are designed for industrial uses such in plants and facilities to troubleshoot motor drives, power distribution,
and electro-mechanical equipment and instruments.

The Fluke 289 is a step up from the 87V (87-5). The Fluke 289 has better accuracy, resolution, and has a
datalogging capability. It also has a 1/4 VGA dot matrix display that can display multiple lines.

One of the big advantags of the Fluke 289 is it has an IR port.  This allows the unit to connect to the PC.
The Fluke 289 also has the ability to log data then transfer it to a computer.  With the optional FlukeView
software one can graph and analize data from the 289 Mulitmeter.  The Fluke 289/FVF version comes with
the USB IR cable and the FlukeView PC software.
