Comparison Summary

The Fluke 11x Series includes 4 powerful multimeters with varying levels of capability for different applications. The Fluke 117 is the top end model. Fluke calls the 117 an Electricians Multimeter because this meter is designed for demanding settings such as commercial buildings, hospitals, and schools. It incorporates numerous powerful features including diode test capability, VoltAlert non-contact voltage detection, and LoZ ghost voltage detection. This meter can also measure AC/DC Volts up to 600V and AC/DC Amps up to 20A, in addition to frequency, capacitance, resistance, and continuity measurements. The only major feature this meter is lacking is the ability to measure temperature.

The Fluke 116 can do everything the 117 can do, however, it does not include VoltAlert non-contact voltage detection. That said, the 116 is capable of measuring temperature and includes a Min/Max/Average function with elapsed time to record signal fluctuations. The 116 also provides microamps to test flame sensors. This meter was specifically designed for HVAC professionals. It has everything you need to quickly troubleshoot problems with HVAC equipment.

The Fluke 115 is also very similar to the 117, minus a few features. The 115 does not include VoltAlert non-contact voltage detection and LoZ ghost voltage detection. It also cannot measure temperature. The 115 is a Compact Multimeter for Field Service Technicians, designed to be used as a general purpose troubleshooting tool.

The Fluke 114 is a more basic tool, designed to be used for general purpose troubleshooting. This meter is not able to measure current - it can only measure voltage up to 600V. The 114 also does not include VoltAlert™ or diode test capabilites, but it does include the LoZ function for capturing ghost voltages.

All the multimeters in the Fluke 11x Series are True-RMS Multimeters with large 3-1/2 digit / 6,000 count displays. Other than the differences mentioned above, the major specifications for these meters are almost exactly the same. Each is capable of measuring voltage up to 600V AC/DC with .5% accuracy. Each also includes a bright white LED backlit screen for easy viewing in any environment. The warranty for each unit is 3 years.
