Comparison Summary

The Fluke 115 and Fluke 116 are both True-RMS Multimeters with large 3-1/2 digit / 6,000 count displays. The major specifications for these meters are almost exactly the same. Each is capable of measuring voltage up to 600V AC/DC with .5% accuracy as well as current up to 20A AC/DC. Resistance, continuity, frequency, and capacitance measurements are also possible with both models. Each also includes a bright white LED backlit screen for easy viewing in any environment. The warranty for each unit is 3 years.

The Fluke 116 includes Fluke's LoZ ghost voltage detection technology while the 115 does not. The Fluke 116 also features a built-in thermometer for temperature measurement and a Min/Max/Average function with elapsed time to record signal fluctuations. The 116 also provides micro-amps to test flame sensors - these are the only real difference between the two meters. The 116 was specifically designed for HVAC professionals. It has everything you need to quickly troubleshoot problems with HVAC equipment.
