Overview

The FLIR TG267 and Hikvision DS-2TP are lightweight handheld thermal cameras with 320x240 thermal resolution, but the FLIR has better thermal sensitivity, temperature range, field of view, and software capabilities.

The most significant advantage for FLIR TG267 in terms of image quality is FLIR MSX, a proprietary image blending technology. It is a nice feature that embosses visual details on top of the thermal image. The Hikvision DS-2TP only has thermal capabilities with no added image blending solution. Furthermore, the FLIR camera's sharpness is better due to the pixel pitch of 12 microns compared to 17 microns on the Hikvision DS-2TP.

Although both have a similar user interface and menu structure, pressing the center button on both cameras brings up the main menu tray where you can access measurement modes, image blending, color palettes, and more. The FLIR TG267 has a better user interface. The settings menu is much more user-friendly with its sub-menu and intuitive detail. The TG267 can also support a thermocouple (included), which allows you to take surface temperatures.

The FLIR TG267 will also be compatible with the FLIR Tools - this is a free reporting software that lets you easily analyze images and generate reports. The Hikvision DS-2TP does not include any reporting software.

FLIR TG267 has 4GB internal memory that can support up to 50,000 images, whereas the Hikvision DS-2TP includes an 8GB removable SD card. The DS-2TP can also support SD cards up to 128GB.

Overall, the FLIR TG267 has a slight edge - it includes free reporting software, FLIR MSX, and the new FLIR Ignite Service for cloud storage. The Hikvision DS-2TP is cheaper and has larger memory capability with longer battery life, but it lacks image blending and reporting software.
