Overview

The FLIR E6 and FLIR E8 are the top end models in the FLIR Ex Series of industrial thermal cameras. Both cameras include many of the same features such as MSX, WiFi connectivity, a 2-meter drop test rating, and FLIR’s impressive 10-5-2 warranty.

As for the important specifications, these cameras are almost completely the same. Both have an accuracy rating of ±2°C or ±2%, a temperature measurement range from -4°F to 482°F, and thermal sensitivity of 60mK. Both feature center spot measurement as well as area box measurement with minimum and maximum temperatures.

The only real difference between these cameras is the infrared resolution – the E6 has 160x120 resolution compared to a higher 320x240 on the E8. This means the E8 will provide higher quality, larger images where more fine details are visible.

As for other important features, both cameras feature FLIR MSX Image Enhancement technology which adds key details from the onboard visible light camera to the entire infrared image in real time. The result is an all-in-one, undiluted thermal picture with visible light features that let you instantly recognize where the problematic heat pattern is.

Both cameras also feature WiFi connectivity which lets you upload images and data to the FLIR Tools app for instant sharing and reporting. Use the free FLIR Tools app to analyze and edit images before sending out professional reports directly from the app.

Both cameras have the exact same form factor with a 3-inch screen and focus-free lens. Simple button navigation to on-screen settings makes these cameras easy to operate.
