The FLIR C2 and FLIR ONE Pro are both powerful yet portable thermal imaging cameras which you can easily carry with you in your pocket. The main difference between the two is the form factor – the FLIR C2 is a pocket-sized standalone thermal camera, while the FLIR ONE Pro is a thermal camera attachment for your smartphone. The latest FLIR ONE Pro has been improved and easily connects directly to your Android or Apple smartphone without any adapters. Depending on your application, one of these may be more convenient for you. For this comparison, we have linked to the iOS version of the FLIR ONE Pro - the specs for the Android version are exactly the same. Follow the link below and you'll find the Android version under "Compare Products in this Series".

In terms of specifications, the C2 and FLIR ONE Pro are different. The C2 has a thermal resolution of 80 × 60 pixels, compared with a higher 160 x 120 pixel IR resolution on the FLIR ONE Pro. Thermal sensitivity on the ONE Pro is also slightly better at 70mK, compared to 100mK on the C2. Temperature range is much wider on the FLIR ONE Pro at -4°F - 752°F, compared to 14 to 302°F on the C2.

Another notable difference is accuracy – the C2 takes the edge here at ±2°C or 2%, compared to ±3°C or ±5% on the FLIR ONE Pro. The C2 also takes the edge for battery life with a 2-hour maximum operating time, compared to only 1 hour on the FLIR ONE Pro.

Each device also includes some unique features. On the C2, you get the ability to stream live video directly to the FLIR Tools App on a mobile device. JPEG images on the C2 also store 4,800 individual thermal measurements which you can process using FLIR Tools. The FLIR ONE Pro works with the FLIR ONE App to give you similar image processing and analysis capabilities, however this doesn’t support video streaming. FLIR ONE Pro also features FLIR’s VividIR™ image processing technology which gives you the ability to see more detail and measure smaller components from farther away.

Both devices include FLIR’s powerful MSX technology which combines the details of a visual image with the radiometric data of a thermal image.
