Comparison

Thermal Image Quality -One of the major differences between the Cat S60 and S61 is the S61’s increased thermal imaging sharpness and quality. With FLIR’s exclusive MSX technology and 12 um vs the S60’s 17 um, the S61 provides ultra-sharp thermal images.

Screen Size/ResolutionThe S61 also has a larger 5.2” screen versus the S60’s 4.7” screen. This increase in screen size also gives the S61 full HD resolution (1080 x 1920) vs the HD (720 x 1280) resolution of its predecessor.

Waterproof CapabilityThe Cat S60 is known for its 5m waterproof protection. However, the S60 requires users flip physical switches on the phone to fully seal the microphone and speakers on the S60 in order to activate the 5m waterproof functionality. In its standard operating state, the S60 is only waterproof up to 2m. For the S61, Cat has decided to eliminate the physical switch and has now made the phone waterproof up to 3m at all times.

MultitoolThe Cat S61 has also added additional tools under its belt. It includes a laser assisted distance meter for distances up to 8m and an indoor air quality monitor for measuring temperature, humidity and indoor air pollutants.
