Fieldpiece HVAC Equipment and Instruments
This product category includes various types of manometers available from Fieldpiece.
Manometers are instruments used to measure low pressures, such as duct static pressures and differential pressures. Fieldpiece offers exclusively digital manometers. Digital manometers completely eliminate liquids and replace them with either absolute, vacuum, gauge, or differential pressure sensors. Fieldpiece manometers are capable of measuring gas and static pressures and are able to display dual-data to show two pressures and their difference.
Fieldpiece offers a line of manometer heads that increase versatility even more. These instruments are not standalone units; they are designed to be interchangeable with a variety of other heads on one of Fieldpiece's stick meters. This system eliminates the need for multiple costly standalone meters and saves space in your toolbox since you really only need one meter with head attachments. One and two port manometer heads are available.
This video will give you a better idea of how the Fieldpiece modular expansion system works.
This product category contains digital HVAC manifolds and vacuum gauges from Fieldpiece.
Manifolds are used to monitor and charge HVAC systems. These Fieldpiece units will have up to four ports for different refrigerant types. Fieldpiece offers three digital manifolds that enable the user to perform complex operations such as calculating superheat and subcooling simultaneously, linear adjustment of pressure sensors, and micron measurements via a built-in micron gauge. Additionally these manifolds can wirelessly receive indoor wet bulb and outdoor dry bulb measurements from Fieldpiece heads using a
Fieldpiece ET2W Transmitter or other wireless enabled device.
Gauges are simply used to monitor HVAC systems. Fieldpiece offers digital vacuum gauges with built in high and low pressure alarms and integrated timers to record how long the system has maintained a deep vacuum. Two types of digital vacuum gauges are available from Fieldpiece: a standalone unit and an expansion head for use with the Filedpiece modular expansion system mentioned above.
Fieldpiece instruments in this category do exactly what the name suggests: they detect refrigerant leaks. These instruments can use a variety of methods to find leaks, however refrigerant leak detectors from Fieldpiece operate via either infrared or heated diode technology.
Heated diode leak detectors operate using two electrodes in their sensors. These determine leaks based on refrigerant concentration or current drop between the two electrodes. Heated diode leak detectors are not as durable as IR versions however they will still last about 5 years, are more affordable and are still very capable. The heated diode leak detectors from Fieldpiece trigger on all CFCs, HFCs, HCFCs and blends. They also feature 15 hour battery life, a filter system to protect the sensor, and less than 30 seconds start-up time.
IR leak detectors are entirely different. These instruments work on the principle that refrigerants reflect a certain infrared frequency of light. When refrigerant is drawn into the sensor, it travels between a light/heat source and a sensor. When the refrigerant reflects the infrared radiation and blocks the sensor an alarm is triggered on the detector.
These units have many advantages over other types of leak detectors. Chief among them is the fact that unlike in heated diode or corona discharge detectors, IR sensors in Fieldpiece instruments are sealed and will last more than 10 years. This means that the sensor doesn't "touch" refrigerant as it passes through the instrument and as a result, IR sensors won't degrade or fail when they come in contact with high concentrations of refrigerant or touch liquid. Fieldpiece IR refrigerant leak detectors also won't trigger on oil or moisture like some leak detectors will and will sense even minor changes in refrigerant levels.
This category contains HVAC equipment from Fieldpiece that you won't find in any of the above categories. This includes A/C Superheat/Subcool System Analyzers, Charging Scales, and various HVAC Measurement Kits which can include a variety of Fieldpiece HVAC tools bundled together for a reduced purchase price.
