Extech Electrical Parts and Products
The Electrical Parts and Products in this category are used in a variety of electrical applications, including wire management, wire pulling, troubleshooting and more. They are used in a variety of industries, including industrial, electrical, automotive, fuel, aviation, agriculture, irrigation, firefighting, military and more. Specifically, Extech offers Line Splitters / Line Separators and GFCI Recepticle Testers
Line Splitters
Line Splitters provide a means to cleanly “open” a line cord in order to make clamp type current measurements. When connected between the wall outlet and the device under test, a clamp meter can then be clamped around one of the two test openings in the splitter. One opening provides a one-to-one current reading and the other provides a times-ten (X10) reading so that small current will display with better resolution on a clamp meter. These devices make reading current easy and safe.
Line Splitters Applications
- Splits two conductor line cord to permit amps measurement with Clamp-On
- Allows direct current reading in 1X mode
- Increases sensitivity of current measurement in 10X mode
- Provides easy and safe measurements of current without the need to cut off the plug and separate the conductors
Types of Line Splitters
Key Features of Line Splitters to Consider
- Provides easy and safe measurements of current without the need to cut off the plug and separate the conductors
- Plugging the power connector into the Line Splitter separates the hot/live conductor from the neutral (and ground)
- Some models features voltage check function
- Some models voltmeter output jacks for simultaneous voltage measurement
- Up to 15 Amps continuous current (up to 20 Amps for one minute maximum)
- Plugs directly to an outlet or can be connected with test leads adapter
- Can be connected in series with permanently wired equipment
- Limited Life Time Warranty in some models
Receptacle Testers
Receptacle testers detect five separate faults: Open Ground, Open Neutral, Open Hot, Hot/Ground Reverse, and Hot/Neutral Reverse. They are used to test GFCI circuits and 3-wire receptacles, and they confirm proper wiring and operation of AC sockets. Receptacle testers are available in various styles to meet a range of needs.
Receptacle Testers Applications
- Test GFCI circuits
- Test for faulty wiring in 3-wire receptacles
- Detect five wiring faults: Open Ground, Open Neutral, Open Hot, Hot/Ground Reverse, and Hot/Neutral Reverse.
- Confirm proper wiring and operation of AC socket
Key Features of Receptacle Testers to Consider
- Tests GFCI circuits and for faulty wiring in 3-wire receptacles
- Lights indicate circuit condition
- Conformance to UL, cUL, CSA, CE and/or similar international electrical safety standards
- Gives instant display of wiring conditions of any standard 3-wire 110VAC Outlet
- Snap-on probes fit into receptacle for easy one-hand operation
- Cable Reels. Cable reels are spools used to store and carry cables
- Cable and Wire. Cables are made up of two or more wires that are bonded side by side, twisted, or braided. Wires consist of one strand or rod of metal
- Electrical Cord. An electrical cord consists of several electrical conductors held together with an outside coating
- Electrical Jumpers and Pigtails. Electrical jumpers are small conductors used to close, bypass, or open part of an electrical circuit. Electric pigtails are short wires connected to electric devices as a lead or ground
- Electrical Plugs and Connectors. Electrical plugs and connectors allow electrical devices to be connected to the electric source
- Fluorescent Lighting Tester. Fluorescent lighting testers are used to troubleshoot bulbs, pins, and voltage of fluorescent lights
- Ground Fault Sensors. Ground Fault Sensors help protect people, products, and processes from damage by ground fault conditions by monitoring all current-carrying conductors in grounded systems
- Line Splitters. Line splitters provide a means to cleanly “open” a line cord in order to make clamp type current measurements
- Lockout /Tagout. Lockout/tagout items are used to secure materials, processes, and jobsites.
- Outlet Boxes . Outlet boxes provide protection against electric shock while using portable power cords
- Pulling Products. Pulling products include fish tape and pulling lubricants
- Pushbutton Pendant Stations. Pushbutton pendant stations are used to control industrial cranes and hoists as well as remote jog operation of industrial machines
- Receptacle Testers. Receptacle testers detect five separate faults: Open Ground, Open Neutral, Open Hot, Hot/Ground Reverse, and Hot/Neutral Reverse
- Switches. Switches provide a compact, versatile means to disconnect, test, or measure devices and circuits
- Terminal Blocks and Strips. Terminal blocks and strips secure two or more wires together. They use a variety of techniques to open a circuit without disconnecting or disturbing the wiring
- Terminals and Crimps. Crimp connectors and terminals are usually used to terminate stranded wire
- Temporary Power Distribution. These devices provide temporary power distribution to areas for a variety of purposes, such as outdoor events, military tents, concert venues, and more
- Wall Plates. Wall plates are metal plates that are used for attaching a bracket, wiring, or other device
- Wire Management. These products help users manage wires used in various applications and include wire markers, cable ties, cable staples, and more
- Wire Ties. Wire and cable ties are used for every day bundling and cable management
