Cable Reels

Cable reels are spools used to store and carry cables. They keep the cables from getting tangled and they are used in a variety of industries, including industrial, electrical, automotive, fuel, aviation, agriculture, irrigation, firefighting, and more. Cable reels come in a variety of styles and sizes to meet a range of needs.

Cable Reel Applications
  • Store, carry, and discharge various types of cables
  • Discharge dangerous static electricity build-up in hazardous environments
  • Make shop, garage, or other work areas safer: A hose or cable left on the ground can be tripped over by employees or customers, potentially causing serious injury.
  • Eliminate hose or cable handling problems: Save time and increase efficiency.
  • Extend hose or cable life: Reduce costly repairs and downtime when hoses are damaged while left on the ground.
Key Features of Cable Reels to Consider
  • Excellent performance in industrial indoor and outdoor applications (wet or dry)
  • Built to NEMA 4 Standards/CSA certified
  • Conformance to UL, cUL, CSA, CE and/or similar international electrical safety standards
  • Variety of ring amp ratings from 35-150 Amps
  • All-Steel Pawl and Ratchet with 4 Locking Positions
  • Automatic Locking Ratchet With lockout Lever Option
  • Reel mounts to wall or ceiling
  • Compact size allows mounting in tight spaces
  • Feet are unfinished for maximum electrical contact
  • 100% unassisted spring retraction
How to Choose a Cable Reel

When choosing a cable reel, it is important to consider how it will be used. Ask yourself the following questions:
  • What type of cable or hose will be on the reel?
  • If a hose will be on the reel, what will you put through the hose (air, water, etc.)?
  • What is the maximum pressure (in P.S.I.) needed for operation?
  • How will you be using the cable or hose? (Will it be stretched, lifted, dragged, or retrieved?)
  • How far out will the hose or cable need to retract?
  • Is a ball stop required for the application?
  • Is an inlet hose assembly needed to connect hose reel and source of supply?
