Excellent Quality!!!
5.0
Needed this for making flared ends on copper tubing for r410a mini split units. Made the mistake of using a common flare tool--nothing but leaks! First time using this--PERFECT FLARES and NO LEAKS each time! PERFECT!!!!

Tried others w/ problems, but this one works well

The eccentric cone works well to produce smooth flares that seal well.
Works well, no leaks! on Sep 10, 2020 I found this helpful (0)
Feels like a lifetime tool
As the other reviewer so eloquently puts it, the rolling contact of the offset forming mandrel seems like about the best possible way to create a perfect flare connection. Add a little refrigerant oil or Nylog on the inner surface produces a polished finish right out of the tool. I did a handful of practice flanges to try the tool out, and I wouldn't hesitate to use any one of those in a production system. I don't have enough hours on the tool to comment on longevity yet, but if the giant roller bearing hiding in the body is any indication of build quality, I suspect this will see me to the grave if I can keep it dry and not-stolen.

Well-designed tool
My concern is assuring that the sealing surface of a flared tube is as pristine as possible. The rolling contact of the offset forming mandrel has proven to be the ideal solution. Suggest practicing a few flares before using on a production joint.
