The versatile station

My personnal rating is really really close to 5 stars but the rating system only allow 4 or 5. So 4 it is, even it deserves more, and I explain why. PROS (Why I choose it) * It's weller! reputable and quality garant. * The switch on the hot air pencil makes it really easy to operate. On/Off at will without defocusing on the task. * The programable profile can transform this station in an improvised rework station, by adding a fixing arm and a programable heating plate. CONS * Hose is a bit stiff for my taste, but not rigid enough to be considered unconfortable. * The hot pencil stand... well.. I don't know the trick to keep the pencil from falling again and again. Overall, I gladly recommend this unit for his quality and ease use for manual work. I blissfully recommend this units for those people to also want to use his programmable options to emulate a rework station. Regards,

Very good, not excellent
well built fro sure, and certainly a high end Weller tool. and the price special Tequip have it at makes it worth buying. at list price, I would have returned it. there are some design issues that I contend with, as to the flexibility of the hose. the tool just about never sits properly in the dock. it would if you are re route the hose to the front, basically killing the desk space. also, does not heat up quick, and the biggest problem: adjusting the air flow. not sure if my unit is defective, but: it seems like you have to press and hold the "air" and then adjust. while doing that, the flow percentage flickers a lot and the device keeps going back into the temp setting. so press air, and continue to press rapidly as you change the flow up or down? the manual is pathetic and not helpful at all. 4 not 3 stars because the hand tool is very well constructed and it does the job nicely.
