Quite expensive at the end

So annoying, shipping costs were to expensive, but either when I thought it would be the last, taxes where a lot of money more. So, I paid almost the same value for the article for shipping and taxes concept. I tried to contact someone from Tequipment and nobody responded.

I originally shopped for this on Amazon, which had every listed at the MSRP or higher. Then I came here, and was able to purchase it for $200 below the MSRP. Along with free shipping, this worked out great. Oh, and the Hot Air Station, is SUPERB too! I've been using Weller products for ~35 years.

First I would like to give a double thumbs up to TEquipent for an incredible RMA response with my Weller WTHA1N purchase.

I would also like to thank Diane Miller, a Weller Territory Sales Manager for my area. She provided an apology and explanation for the issue with the first run production units. Awesome.

So, I got my hands on a good unit and I feel obligated to give an updated review.
Weller WTHA1N
- as good a quality as Hakko FR810-B, (Hakko is a bit heavier but the same ESD plastic is used and other than that seems on par).

- interface is easier to use (memory presets or easier to setup compared to the Hakko)

- cost about $230 less.
I do like my Hakko, but I like this Weller WTHA1N as much.

I hope this neutralizes some of the bias in my first review and helps someone to make a better purchasing decision.

Very poor quality. Don't order

I ordered this unit thinking it was from Weller but it turned out to be extremely poor quality. The plastic on the unit, the hot air pencil and the silicon hose appeared to be made of cheap material. In terms of manufacturing quality - 1) I had parts missing out of the box - the spring on the silicon hose near the main unit was missing and 2) there seemed to be a long human hair trapped inside of the LCD on the main unit!!!! Tequipment wanted me to pack the box that this unit came in, inside of another box and ship. I ended up spending $70 in shipping this unit back but they refunded me only $25 of that amount, which was poor customer service I believe. In my opinion this unit is a piece of crap, quality wise. Don't order it!!!!!

Cheap, Mexican made. DOA, returned.

I waited almost 2 months to receive this unit. During the unboxing I was disappointed. The look and feel was cheap and I noticed that it was of German design but Mexico manufacture. I was willing to live with that, but once I pulled the unit out I could feel and hear the internals moving around. Really. In short, the unit was DOA. Not much heat and although the fan could be heard no air came from the nozzle. Returned, I'm going with the Hakko FR-810B
