About
In 1941, Carl E. Weller invented a transformer-based soldering tool which heated and cooled rapidly. This was the first ever soldering gun. In 1946, Weller formed a company to sell this invention; Weller has been producing the finest soldering tools and accessories for all applications ever since. Today Weller is a subsidiary of Apex Tool Group, which is owned by Bain Capital. Their product line focuses on soldering guns, irons, stations, desoldering equipment, soldering iron tips/nozzles/replacement parts, and fume extractors. All of these products are made to protect the environment and conserve resources; Weller has incorporated auto-standby functions to reduce energy consumption by soldering equipment, and has also established several recycling initiatives
