No. The analog output from the transducer is a continuous linear output in 0-5V, 0-10V, 1-5V, 2-10V, 0-20 mA, or 4-20 mA depending on how it is set by the user. It is field-selectable and changeable.
The warranty period is one year. See the instruction manual for details.
The transducer is returned to TSI for calibration to be performed in a laser-verified wind tunnel. The calibration information is programmed into an EPROM and the typical turnaround is one week for any recalibration or service.
The transducer makes single-point readings. For multi-point readings, additional transducers must be purchased.
Yes, as long as they are connected in parallel for units with voltage output and in series for current output. The resistance of all output indicators in series cannot exceed 270 Ohms on a unit with a current output.
TSI offers the Model 8455 General-Purpose Transducer.
The accuracy for Model 8455 is ±2.0 percent of reading ±0.5 percent of full-scale. The accuracy is the sum of the two components of the specifications.Example: If you have a Model 8455 with a full-scale range of 4,000 ft/min and an output of 0-5 volts and it reads 4.0 V (or 3,200 ft/min) the accuracy is calculated as follows: ±0.5% of reading ±0.5% of full scale = ±0.02(3,200 ft/min) ±0.005(4,000 ft/min) = ±64 ft/min ±20 ft/min, The total accuracy is the then equal to ±84 ft/min or 2.6% at 3,200 ft/min.
