This is an example of a voltage sag caused by a large load (such as a motor) turning on, running for a few seconds, then turning off.

Set triggers for power quality events, (sags, swells, transients), current inrush, etc. - The PowerSight models PS4000 and PS4500 allow you to program triggers in the voltage and current domains to catch voltage sags and swells, transients (impulses) to 8us, or current inrush events when large machines or motors startup.

Transient - Transient voltage recorded by PS4000/PS4500 Power Quality Analyzer. PSM software allows you to zoom further, annotate and print.

Total Harmonic Distortion log - This graph shows THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) logged over time for both voltage and current. PowerSight models PS4000/PS4500 measure to 63rd order as standard. PS3000/PS3500 measure harmonics to 50th order as standard. (Note: For the PS250 and PS2500 loggers harmonics measurement is an option).

Generator Start-Up (Voltage and Current Regulation) - Generator Tests: Startup current and voltage regulation behavior as captured by the PowerSight PS4500 Power Quality Analyzer. The PS4500 can be used for UPS and generator tests, load bank studies.

Power Quality: Sub-cycle Transient or Impulse Capture (spikes) - PowerSight PS4500 and PS4000 Power Quality Analyzers feature fast sampling to capture impulsive transients as short as 8us in duration and up to 1000V peak.

Generator Start-Up (Frequency Regulation) - Generator Tests: Startup frequency regulation behavior as captured by the PowerSight PS4500 Power Quality Analyzer. The PS4500 can be used for UPS and generator tests, load bank studies.

RMS Voltage Logs - All PowerSight models are excellent tools for logging voltage, current, and power parameters. Log graphs of RMS values can be displayed on your PC with PSM software (supplied with every PowerSight) and pasted into a Word document with a mouse click. Note that PSM allows you to zoom, expand, export to Excel and annotate with labels to highlight events or behavior.

View real-time waveforms, harmonics, phasors in scope mode - The oscilloscope features in all PowerSight meters allow you to view voltage and current waveforms, see the harmonic spectrum on any phase and get phasor diagrams.

PowerSight in SCAS2 Case - Thanks go to Bruce Lonie of PowerCet (a consulting and training company) who sent us this excellent picture of a PowerSight monitoring power to large walk-in food coolers in a commercial kitchen. He cleverly used the soft case SCAS2 to hang the meter out of harm's way and in a safe way.

Additionally, the Remote Control function in PSM software mimicks the front panel on your PC or Netbook so you can operate and control Bluetooth enabled PowerSight meters remotely. Thus from a safe distance, up to 25 feet away, you can view meter values, waveforms and more.
