The DFG is basic force gage. The gage measures force at an accuracy of better than 0.2% full scale. Additionally, the DFG Scan be used to measure force with Starrett FMM digital force tester or MTL lever-actuated manual force tester or an MTH hand-wheel-operated manual force tester. Unlike the Starrett DFC Force Controller, the DFG cannot be used to control the FMM digital force tester.
The DFG features an internal data sampling rate of 10Hz and can communicate to external devices using USB and RS-232. Display resolution is 5,000:1.
Save up to 50 test results in internal memory. View historical and statistical results.
The DFG features a high-resolution 320 x 240 pixel color display with an adjustable backlight. The instrument is powered using a lithium ion battery. The gage is charged using the standard USB cable supplied. Information can be displayed in multiple languages: English, Deutsch, Portugues, Spanish, French, Italian, Chinese and more.
The DFG is supplied with a full set of testing adapters, USB cable and a NIST-traceable certificate of calibration. The DFG has a standard 3-year warranty.
SIMPLE, EASY-TO-USE BASIC FORCE MEASUREMENT
The DFG is ideal for basic tensile and compression testing. Test setup and operation is fast, efficient and easy for anyone. The DFG can be used for load limit testing, peak load testing, and break testing. The DFG display shows the test direction and dynamic load during testing. Results are displayed at the completion of testing, including "Pass-Fail" when tolerance is applied. The gage will display statistics when results are saved to the gage’s internal memory. Store up to 50 test results in local memory. You can also export results and raw data via USB communications to a network device. Internal data sampling at 10kHz helps capture peak events.
FORCE MEASUREMENT ACCURACY AND REPEATABILITY
The DFG ensures a repeatable measurement using ozf, gf, kgf, lbf or N units with an accuracy of better than 0.2% FS. The load cell sensor can be adjusted so that your gage can limit the full-scale measurement capability helping to protect from accidental overloading. The safe overload rating is 200% FS. The integral load cell sensor complies with IEEE 1451-4.
FOR BASIC TESTING APPLICATIONS
The DFG Digital Force Gage can be used as a handheld force gage for basic applications or with a FMM Digital Force Tester, or our MTL and MTH Manual Testers. Listed are the various test methods that can be performed:
- Real-Time - Measure real-time forces. The gage will display the currently applied force and automatically capture peak forces in both tensile or compression directions.
- Peak Tension Testing - The peak tension mode captures the maximum load applied in the tensile direction. The gage displays tolerances and will provide a "pass" or "fail" based on the measurement.
- Peak Compression Testing - The compression mode captures the maximum load applied in the compression direction. The gage is ideal for testing springs using the MTH manual tester with the digital scale option.
