Good padded case for the 260

This is a well made, padded case for Simpson 260 style instruments. I got it to go along with their 229-2 leakage tester, which uses the same case as the 260.
It protects well and has a space for leads. One can jam a manual in there, but I sort of wish it had a separate pouch for it.

i just replaced my 260 i have had for over 30 years, and it worked perfectly before i left it on the bumper of my truck, and drove off. AAAAHHHH.
still the industry standard for analog meters, built like a tank, but as sensitive as a butterfly.
Perfect for reading low amperages and watching for quick swingers in circuits, too fast for digital meters.
I cant get by with out one. Every electrician should own one of these.
PS... buy a nice padded case for it.

Beautiful Soft Padded Cases are very good protection for my 2 Simpson 260 Analog Multimeters. These are extremely good quality cases and are very well made and have a nice custom fit and the padding is extremely adequate for a soft case. The 2 Cases I received are very well made and I noticed that they were thoughtfully designed. There is an area on the case that accommodates the meter handle when it's in a folded back position. The padding is thick and provides very good protection. Overall a very nice case and the finishing touch is the "Simpson" logo on the front. I'm very happy with these cases and would recommend them to any Simpson 260 / 270 owner.

An old reliable Standard, the the Simpson 260-8 was introduced to me when attending USAF electronics school in 1957. Tough and well built and perfectly designed for it's job- general purpose trouble shooting and measurements. It is my favorite piece of test equipment, and IMHO the finest Analog meter
out there even after all these years !

I have used a Triplett model 310 meter for many years but as my eyes have aged and the mater face has shrunk, I purchased a digital VOM. Big numbers on that little meter but I needed more accuracy when I'm working on shorted wiring. I opted for the Simpson 260-8 analog meter. It has a large meter face that I can easily read, clearly marked dials and switches. This feels like a high quality VOM. I've only used once so far but I am highly satisfied. In the shop where I work we all use each other's tools so I made three new rules about my new meter. Don't use it! Don't touch it! Don't even look at it!
