The Shimpo FGS-100PXL horizontal motorized test stand is for use with compatible Shimpo force gauges (not included) for tensile and compression force testing. It has a 110 lb. (50 kg, 500 N) maximum capacity and an adjustable travel speed of 0.19 to 4.72" (5 to 120 mm) per minute with a 5.5" (140 mm) stroke and a 0.008 to 0.020” (0.2 to 0.5 mm) mechanical backlash. User-programmable force and distance limits stop the movement of the stand when the limit has been reached. The user can choose between manual, jog, single cycle, continuous cycle, or programmable operating modes, for one-time or repeat testing. Overload protection helps prevent damage to the gauge by stopping movement of the stand when a pre-set load limit has been reached. Dual speed controls adjust the test and return travel speeds. A tare function allows the user to zero the gauge display when using attachments with the gauge. The stand can provide data in metric or English units of measurement. When used with the optional mounting plate (sold separately), the stand can accept a variety of attachments (sold separately) for different types of force testing. A liquid crystal display (LCD) on the stand indicates the displacement rate and distance of the drive assembly. It comes with an analog cable that allows the stand to communicate with a computer or other compatible device. It also comes with an interface cable for connecting the test stand to a compatible gauge. The stand is made from steel, which resists wear and corrosion. It weighs 40 lb. (18 kg), and it measures 6.73 x 18.43 x 9.21 inches (171 x 468 x 234 mm, H x W x D, where H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is the width, the horizontal distance from left to right; and D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back). It comes with an Allen wrench and screws for assembly.
Force gauges, also called push-pull gauges or tension gauges, measure the tensile (pull) or compression (push) force applied to an object. They are used to test the strength and functionality of a variety of machines, electronic components, cables, wires, and consumer products in scientific, medical, automotive, quality assurance, and manufacturing applications. A digital force gauge shows the amount of force in digits on the gauge's display. Response time varies among digital force gauges depending on the speed of the processor. An analog (or mechanical) force gauge shows measurements on a calibrated dial. Analog force gauges are not as precise as digital force gauges, but they provide instantaneous measurements and can be used in a wider range of environmental conditions than digital force gauges. Hooks, compression plates, levers, handles, test stands, and other accessories can be used with the gauge for taking measurements on objects with a range of shapes and sizes.
