The Shimpo CNTL-0B0 is a battery powered Filter Pulse controller. The Filter Pulse patented optical filter sensor for HVAC systems notifies when an air filter is dirty and requires replacement. Utilizing its infrared sensing technology, the Filter Pulse operates independently from air speed fluctuations and pressure changes in the HVAC system which is not possible with pressure sensing instruments. This technology’s performance enables the Filter Pulse to be the only device that produces an accurate detection of replacement status on a variety of capacity filters, across all brands, in complex to simple HVAC systems. The patented Filter Pulse technology shines a light beam through an HVAC air filter and receives the light that passes through the filter. When a new clean filter is inserted, the filter reset is pressed. An initial light measurement is made calibrating the sensor with the starting basepoint of the new filter. Later measurements are compared with the initial measurement. The alarm indicates when the measured light sensed drops below the dirty status trip point. This calculation method allows the Filter Pulse to accurately detect the proper replacement threshold on nearly all varieties and brands of filters. Plus, unlike other products, the Filter Pulse accurately operates regardless of the HVAC blower speed or pressure fluctuations in the system.
