RP1000D series high voltage differential probe can convert high differential input voltage 7000Vpp to low voltage and display the waveform on oscilloscope. Its working frequency is up to 50MHz (RP1050D) and it is rather suitable for large electricity test and R&D.

RP1000D series high voltage differential probe is applicable to general purpose oscilloscope and the labeled attenuation ratios are those when the input impedance of the oscilloscope is 1MΩ. The attenuation ratios will double when the input impedance of the oscilloscope is 50Ω.

Nicely packaged diff probe

This is a pretty nice package of a diff probe, good leads, and the standard type of adapters you'd want. Using it on switching power supplies and some higher voltage flash tube designs so far, I have had no complaints. The other brands I've found were a lot lower bang per buck, and the Rigol name is getting to be reasonably reputable. These seem like the best value for the money at the moment.

9V Adaptor Reliability and HV Leads

The 9V adapter is unreliable. We own two of these units and both adapters failed after only a few months.

The high voltage leads are short and the banana plugs fit loosely (keep slipping out of the sockets). This is a big problem if you have to suit up and lock out a machine just to check them.

Rigol Repose: The adaptors are covered by a 1 year warranty. We have replacement parts in stock if you have a problem with them. I just double checked some of our latest stock on the RP1000D probes and the banana jacks fit snugly into the high voltage probes for me. They do go pretty far into the base of the differential probe so make sure they are all the way in. Glad they are working well for you overall and happy to replace the adaptors for you. If you need any support on these please give us a call directly at 877-474-4651 and select technical support to immediately speak directly with one of our applications engineers.

Perhaps you have an older adapter as well.

Works fine but peak voltage spec misleading

This probe works well, but the peak differential voltage is /- 3.5kV. This was unexpected based on the fact that advertised Vpp is "7kV". I understand the claim but found it misleading.

IT is a good unit but it would be more practical if it had a battery power option. It is cumbersome and dangerous to have a power supply line dangling around a high voltage circuit!
