Amazing what this scope can do. I was used to 80-90's era scopes with CRT's and no or rudimentary digital abilities. This scope is way more accurate and multi-talented that I was expecting, and probably way more than I needed. But at this price, why not.
About the only negative so far is that the user interface is a bit confusing, especially for someone who is not used to menus on his test equipment.

This scope far exceeds my expectations. I read an array of reviews of scopes. Many inexpensive scopes showed poor measurement accuracy. The DS1202 Z E performed well in measurement and my test so far confirm this. This scope was a bit more expensive than some of the alternative scopes but measurement accuracy was important to me. Also it is backed by a real company with a 3 year parts and labor warranty if you purchase from an authorized seller which I did. Some of the scopes on Amazon were branded by Companies with no website or warranty statements.

I wanted a 21st century digital scope to retire my Tektronix 2236. I purchased the Rigol DS1202Z-E because it seemed to be a great value with all the bells and whistles that are handy to have. Particularly for me, the color LCD screen and FFT. My application is the troubleshooting and repair of amateur radio transmitter and receiving equipment that glows in the dark (vacuum tubes). I am very pleased with this purchase. I got everything I needed at a very reasonable cost which allowed me to also purchase a spectrum analyzer that I have always wanted to have. I would recommend the DS1202Z-E to anyone looking for a new digital 200 MHz scope for under $300.

I'm not sure which I'm more impressed with, the 1202 or TEquipment. They are both well above expectations. I've been using an ancient Tek scope with a nearly unreadble display for some time and decided to get something better. To be honest, there were alternatives to the Rigol, but when TEquipment's price and options inclusion were figured in, it was a clear winner. I'm extremely satisfied with the purchase. To put it in perspective, my _biggest_ complaint is that the alligator clips on the probe grounds are _very_ stiff!

I used HP and Tektronix dual-trace scopes in my job as a test technician in the 80s. These were bulky and expensive so I never purchased my own. During current downtime I'm getting back into studying electronics. With modern digital scopes we now have access to far more features in a small package for about a tenth of the price so there is no reason not to own one. Rigol makes scopes costing thousands more but this one has more features than I will ever need. In the 80s I had to use a separate expensive piece of gear for decoding and this scope includes that function. The Rigol DS1202Z-E would be an amazing value at twice the price.

I've been very impressed so far. I'm going through EE course, and I needed a scope that can analyze multiple fast signals and perform basic math functions. Now, truth be told, there are plenty of cheaper scopes that can do that, but I wanted something proven, reliable and with fast interface. I'm a programmer by trade and user interface is one of my pet peeves. This scope comes with excellent boot up time, great accuracy, I2C and other serial decoding features (tested, quick access). The only thing I didn't like is slow screen response. But you can see how this is splitting hair. I share the Apple philosophy on interface: all features should be accessible within 3 user actions. In this regard, this scope is excellent. Play with it, learn it, until it becomes intuitive. Once you memorize what all the knobs do, you can get your analysis down to seconds. I haven't tested CSV export or LAN capability yet. But the fact that you can save the data externally opens a huge opportunity for analysis and automation using Python.

I've had a 2-ch 100 MHz scope for about 5-6 years from a competitor, and paid almost twice as much for that one as the Rigol. The difference is night and day. The Rigol scope is actually smaller (a plus for portability), twice the bandwidth, has a ton of memory, and has the serial bus decoding missing from my earlier scope. For a general propose bench scope it performs the basic functions necessary to troubleshoot and repair amplifiers. I look forward to testing it's memory and using the scope to capture hard to find glitches that will help predict where the weak spots are for future repairs and reliable fixes. The one criticism is there are times when pushing the multifunction button ,the scope will not respond, which I think a firmware update may fix this issue.
