Most scopes include rising/falling edge triggers. This can be suitable for many applications, but if the input signal is compromised of pulses or more complicated waveforms, the rising edge trigger may not lock in on the exact area of interest. This forces the user to spend time searching for the problem. The advanced triggering package adds 6 trigger fucntions (and an additional 3 protocol related triggering options0 that can provide a more efficient way to "lock in" to a particular area on an incoming signal.
