Great for demanding solder jobs
5.0
This tip is huge! It's got a lot of thermal mass and can push a lot of power into heating up difficult things like large ground planes. It has performed great for every task I've thrown at it.
I have to admit that the first thing I tried with this tip was the repair of an antique wall-hanging candle holder thing that my wife has. It's made from soldered-together sheet metal, and the hanger on the back broke off. This tip had no problem heating up all of that metal, while my previous temperature-controlled soldering iron couldn't touch it.

Great for high thermal mass
5.0
This is a huge tip that works well for objects with high thermal mass. I've tried it on a decorative sheet metal thing that needed some repair, and it worked great. A large copper plane should be no problem. The PID controller (or whatever they use) in the base station is clearly tuned for other lighter-duty tips, as the temperature goes wacky when first heating this one up. It settles down after a little while and it's stable after that, even under very heavy load.

Pace Solder Tip
4.0
This solder tip works great for soldering large mass parts. We use it to solder metal spacers to a PCB and requires a lot of heat transfer fast.
But there is an issue ... when removing the soldering iron from the tool stand the tip catches because edge of the large tip is larger in diameter of the heater section.
After it catching several times it pulls the cartridge out of the handle enough to disconnect the heater. This happened several times during use so it needs be addressed by Pace.

Great Tip
5.0
Excellent tip for the Pace ADS200. I bought it specifically for soldering directly to the chassis of older tube-based equipment and it has worked great.
