This tripod checks all the boxes
4.0
I run a cabinet shop and needed a 10’ tripod to mount my Dewalt laser level to, that was affordable and meant for indoor use. I searched all over the internet and was having trouble finding anything meeting my needs. Then I found this tripod and it does not disappoint. The good: Good quality aluminum construction and hardware. The legs are double-telescopic and will raise the mount from about 24” to 60”. From that point you can add the 2) 24” extension poles (provided). The clamps that lock the legs are quality and easy to use. Rubber feet perfect for indoor use. The head comes with an adapter for the two most common threads that cameras/lasers have (1/4, 5/8). There is an extension reel that you crank to slowly raise the laser up and down another 18” or so. Bullseye level gauge makes leveling easy. Carrying case is a compact 28” x 6” diameter. The bad: The tripod doesn’t come with any instructions (who reads those?) and I didn’t think this would be a problem, but the reel that you crank to minutely raise the laser up and down takes a lot of leverage to operate; so much so that I thought I might break it. There is a clamp style lock that keeps the extension arm locked, but I had that loose. So I kept thinking there must something else keeping it locked. I ended up needing to loosen (unthread) the center aluminum pole under the laser that conceals the geared extension rod, as the rod was jammed inside of it. After that, the reel would operate the extension rod without so much leverage. It still takes some force, but that rigidity helps the extension arm stop where you raise it to without moving. Would buy again Insta @cbckailua
