Designed for use in grade schools and universities, the SMZ-161-TLED (R2LED) is a highly durable, cost effective stereo microscope. With a small footprint, and modern, lightweight materials, it is the ideal product for any teaching situation.
Unlike compound microscopes, a stereo microscope shows a three dimensional image. Without needing extensive sample preparation, users can enter a microscopic world where the contour of an object is easily seen. For example, if a coin were viewed through the SMZ-161-TLED (R2LED), it would be very easy to see not only details of the design, but also height differences of each part. This has tremendous applications in everything from biology and medicine, to manufacturing quality control.
The SMZ-161-TLED (R2LED) is a zoom stereo microscope, enabling users to adjust magnification through a knob on the unit’s side. The standard range can be achieved with one rotation of the zoom knob, which also contains multiple click stops for exact magnification reproduction. For users requiring larger magnification levels, Motic offers several optional eyepieces and objectives. Objectives are available in 0.3x, 0.5x, 0.63x, 0.75x, 1.5x and 2.0x, and also satisfy ESD requirements.
The SMZ-161-TLED (R2LED) is available in several configurations, as well as a modular system. Users can pick from binocular and trinocular heads, as well as numerous stands, and arms. Illumination options include ring lights, fiber optics, LED and Halogens, and all available in a variety of formats.
