Motic’s SM7 ACHROmatic features a Galilean Optical Zoom System, also known as Central Main Objective (CMO), denoting an Infinity Optical System. For demanding, routine imaging requirements, a Plan-Apochromatic objective 1X (WD 81mm) is available with standard 10X/22 eyepieces, and an 8x to 56x zoom range which offers viewers one of the highest zoom ranges in its class. High-Quality 2D color reproduction and high-resolving power results from the SM7’s superior optical design. Low distortion, longer working distance, multiple lens combinations, superior 10-click mag selector, and ergonomic design offers users the best observation experience across a wide variety of samples.

With a versatile observation tube, the SM7 trinocular head is suitable for multiple imaging options; and when combined with Motic’s Analysis software is capable of advanced measurement, EDF compilation, and panoramic tiling.

The Galilean Optical Zoom System, meaning Infinity Optical System, allows highest flexibility for scientific tasks. The optical setup can be varied by easily exchanging eyepieces and/or objectives. For best possible image results, a Plan-Apochromatic objective 1X (WD 81mm) is available. The standard eyepieces 10X/22 offer a diopter adjustment range of +/- 5, allowing to insert reticles for visual measurements.

The Zoom range of 7:1 displays a standard magnification range of 8X-56X, while displaying a 22mm Field of View. Moreover, the smooth Zoom can be divided by activating a 10-step click stop, optimized graduation for quantitative tasks. It is the perfect precondition for a precise re-setting of a defined magnification step, enabling reproducible measurements e.g. in quality control.

The SM-TR30 switchable trinocular head with 30° viewing angle gives 80% light to the camera port. Any suitable member of the Motic camera family with its Motic Images Plus 3.0 software will upgrade this stereo microscope to a powerful workstation.

Illumination is implemented as a tiltable LED panel for incident light and a space-saving transmitted light module. The extremely flat microscope base plate even in the transmitted light stand allows a relaxed positioning of hands for delicate preparation work. Low heat development and a long lifetime (10.000 hours) are well-known LED characteristics and are appreciated especially when handling living samples. For external illumination, a segmentable ring light can be mounted easily. This is also necessary in the case of industrial stand options.
