Built for Strength
Stainless worktables are built with strength in mind. Most tables, depending on model and mobility, are rated to hold 600 lbs of weight with some stationary units having the capability of holding up to 800 lbs.
Models in 304 and 316 Stainless options
Metro offers a variety of commercial work table options in both 304 and 316 stainless steel. Each type has its own set of overall benefits.
304 stainless steel generally costs less than 316. It is one of the most universally used austenitic stainless-steel materials. 304 stainless is durable against corrosion and oxidation over time but is less resistant to environmental factors than 316 stainless. 304 stainless steel is an acceptable material in the realm of easy cleaning, Metro’s smooth surface stainless ensure that each 304 unit remains easy to clean throughout the time it is in use. 304 is also a material that is used to minimize contamination in both the food service and laboratory industries.
316 stainless steel is generally the more expensive type of stainless steel. 316 stainless steel offers superior corrosion resistance compared to 304. This makes it the preferred material for harsher environments like those found in a laboratory test area. Type 316 has a higher molybdenum-bearing for increased strength against liquids with high salt content and chemicals. Its added strength also makes it less susceptible to breaking down when chemicals like sulfuric acid and fatty acids are spilled at a higher overall temperature. Overall, 316 stainless costs more upfront but has been proven to keep its structural integrity longer, meaning the stainless steel worktables would need to be replaced at a less frequent rate.
We also offer 316 tabletops with a 304 base for an affordable option to those in need of 316. This provides maximum coverage against corrosive agents where the material is handled without the extra cost of 316 legs. That way, you are only paying for 316 where it is needed - on the work surface.
Configurations to Fit Your Needs
Stainless Steel tables from Metro offer the freedom to find a configuration to meet your exact needs and specifications. Units are available in both stationary and mobile styles. For the smooth movement of tables when not in use, casters are available on many units. Leveling feet come with each stationary unit and can be adjusted to create a perfectly even surface for work. Stainless steel tables can be configured with overhead work storage for easy access to supplies. Each configuration comes in multiple size options to fit the designated space.
