The Metcal HTC-8CH0053S Soldering Cartridge has a standard 5.3mm chisel tip and 800 Series heater for temperatures up to 875 °F (468 °C). The HTC-7CH0025S is designed for use with the MX-H6-HTD High Thermal Demand Hand-Piece and therefore is suitable for applications with high thermal loads, including dense boards. Soldering cartridge senses the thermal load and instantly delivers the right amount of power directly to the joint. The technology manipulates the Curie Point of a metal alloy in contact with a low-resistance non-heating copper core to transfer thermal energy to the tip and maintain constant temperature.
